I first became aware of Ruth St. Denis through study of Martha Graham and Bette Davis. Ruth St. Denis and Ms. Graham informed our most favored actress of the late century with knowledge of the body's vital energy and the way, within it, emotion flows ultimately expressing one's self. A treasure I came upon years ago, and proudly mounted as a diptych is an original flyer/advert for a Ruth St. Denis lecture/recital to the public as well as an original India ink hand print of the lady's hand with her signature. The princely sum in the 1920s was advertised as .75c and $1.00 with student rates of .50c in groups of 10 or more. The topics and performance included in the : "The Future of the Dance in America.", "The Dance as a Cultural Force.", and The Philosophy and Dance of the Orient."
I heard many stories about Miss Ruth from my teacher La Meri but this is the first time I have actually heard the real Diva speaking and she is just as wonderful as I had imagined. thank you for posting! Truly on the the GREATS in american history.
Wonderful quote from video: "I think this age of automation, is a case of man in flight from himself and I feel that if any one art can bring him [mankind] back to himself, it is the dance [...] because rhythm is what creates the universe and everything in it [...] In a world gone mad, those who have listened to the divine, those who have ever moved in the rhythm of inward joy, must dance now. Let us not wait for the world to be better, let us help to make it better."

She was a seer...and a visionary. I adore her philosophy!❤❤
Thanks Suzy! What you say makes a lot of sense. You're the first one to make the suggestion. I appreciate it.
Thanks 🙏

You should rename the videos "Ruth St Denis ...." so people can find it in a search. No one is looking for "RSDProject....."
Hey thank you for this. But when/where did this interview come from originally.
Will dig out the source and post.
