They really had Ashanti full on dancing lmao. Her mic was off every performance but she put her all into the dancing. This was so different for her but she had to compete with other women who were killing it. The stakes were so high
Yep and she should’ve stayed in her lane because dancing is not her strong suit lol. And you are absolutely right that her mic is off. Ashanti is not known for being able to sing and dance simultaneously
Read some comments...y do yall think beyonce influenced everybody? Beyonces not authentic shes not the best singer or dancer.i wish yall come from under that weird spell...smh
beyonce does witchcraft. her shows are rituals. thats why they are so stupid when it comes to the truth. if anyone else did beyonces songs, everybody would say they are trash
I agree. You made a very good point. And I LOVE Ashanti. BUT, Dem Hoochies dancing like that in front of CHILDREN. That is why many children think twerking is a REAL form of dance!! What about the electric guitar player?? He should have been in the front with Ashanti while she sung the song. After all, her voice and the excellent guitar 🎸 was what made the song so memorable. In plus, why can’t our children SEE people play instruments out front so they can want to learn how to master playing instruments and writing good music instead of twerking and or dancing like dem Hoochie like strippers???? No disrespect to the females, and they are probably great dancers , but why do they have to be reduced to that kind of dancing?? Again, children need to see HOW music is being played because it does wonders for the brain and they can pick up a REAL SKILL ( like playing instruments) as supposed to dancing like strippers in some steamy nightclub.
@@Junglesmurf2 True. I still thought that even tho she sings R&B , that it was a wise and creative decision to have an electric guitar in the song. But what a waste of the idea because she didn’t showcase it. Fans wanted to know if Ashanti could dance. And she proved that time and time again. I am thinking that the guitar 🎸 was ignored big time and wonder why. Plus she’s a beautiful and great singer, she don’t need provocative sexual dances and attire to get attention.
I LOVE Ashanti, but it disappoints me greatly to see that the electric ⚡️ guitar 🎸 player was NOT up front in center with Ashanti as she sings the song. Every time I see her perform this song I don’t see the electric guitar 🎸 player. I see her choreography being front and center which I know fans wanted to see that. But that should not have been thee center or focus of her performance. I get it, she can sing and dance. The electric guitar 🎸 THAT instrument is part of the reason this song was so memorable. She sings R&B but it was clever how this instrument was part of this song in a BIG way. The guitar player whenever this song is being performed should be up front with Ashanti and it does NOT matter who that guitar player is , just as long as they know HOW to play the instrument.
*unfortunately when Beyoncé dropped down the gauntlet in '03 EVERYBODY had to up their game to stay competitive. i think that Ashanti is a talented 'Session Singer' that could've built her Empire being a songwriter, but she was pushed to believe she could be a force in the Post-Beyocalyptic World .* 💔✍🏼🌎
@RMFeminine4TheWin I agree. After DIL dropped I definitely remember how a lot of R&B singers switched up their style that was resemblance of Beyoncé. Even female newcomers in the R&B scene of that time took cues from Beyonce. Very few female R&B (or Black) singers were able to obtain or continue in a post Beyocalyptic world.
Lmao apparently u weren't following the scene that well back then bc ppl were singing n dancing before B n also she was copying lots of females styles back then y'all beehive ppl b delusional as if B was the blueprint of anything n she definitely won't at all@@TheMelody15
@feliciasmith-hv2kj 1. I'm OLD ENOUGH to remember what was going on musically around this time. 2. I know there were singers dancing before B debut, Duh! 3. Beyoncé is a blueprint IN HER OWN WAY. Ashanti didn't start out as a singer/dancer type. Yeah, she had some form of choreography in her performances (hitting a 1-2 step, twirl/spin here and there), but you can see she was more of a singer than a dancer. So it's just odd that after post Beyonce's debut, she started doing full-fledged choreography. Dancing is not her strongest suit.
@@feliciasmith-hv2kjAgree. She was HEAVILY biting off JLo at the time. The only issue is JLo CANNOT sing at all so it was easy for Beyonce to take her style and do it better because Beyonce could actually sing and made better music. But she is definitely NOT original.
Beautiful Ashanti ❤❤❤❤
She is so beautiful
This is Good Morning America
Beautifully done

Good point

Sorry but her mic 🎤 🎙️ was on u can hear her sing

Hoochies rolling around on the floor in front of children 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dancers smh 🤦 they were covered and didn't really fully do the full sexual choreography like normal.

@@Junglesmurf2I disagree with you. No disrespect intended.
@LMoreno621 this is way turned down compared to her other performances lol.
