You guys in the comment section need to stop saying Beyoncé stopped Ashanti career, it's really annoying. Murda Inc. should be the blame for their antics.
Here's what I will say. And I'm not saying she has great vocals or killer dance moves...some may say it's the complete opposite but you have to admit it took guts to do what she did here. Over half the performance she has no backup dancers or singers on stage. There were no other distractions in the production of this performance. To do that even with great vocals can be so nerve wracking that you'd end sounding terrible because of the anxiety of being out there completely by yourself. I liked this performance because of that reason alone. She pushed through like she had all the back up in the world.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Beyonce Stan first but, people need to understand that Murder Inc’s beef, their shady business practices & lack of promotion for her 3rd album were all factors in her career “flopping”. It wasn’t Beyonce “burying” her competition...

EVERYONE was waiting to see Bey's performance vs. Ashanti’s and it was clear that night after Beyoncé performed who would win the “who’s better: Beyoncé vs Ashanti?” competition. After this awards show there was never any more question. And again, this was way before the investigation into Murder, Inc. I only hear younger people bring up that investigation as to why Ashanti didn’t really take off but those who were in their prime at the same time that these two were both coming out knows who won and why. It’s crazy because at that time, other than crazy I love, I actually liked Ashanti’s music more, but you couldn’t deny Bey’s stage presence, performance ability and star power.
