Would you single hand this to Japan from Northern California? Or to Hawaii from Southern California. I know of owners sailing shitty pieces of junk to the island from Southern California. But they were not electric. Maybe someone can give me their opinion.

Are you serious? The design is unusual just for the sake of it. The owner cares more about making impressions than inteligent use of space. This place screams 'i crave attention and want to impress above all'. I guess some people will believe anything is art as long as an authoritative British accent says it is.
My first thought was: A 111-foot, wood-hulled day sailer? How fucking ostentatious is that? Then I saw the interior....

That interior is simply organic, it wasn`t created , it just grew there!

The concept of using the prop to recharge the batteries is clever. The comment about the internal design "it just laughs at the face of practicality" is carefully chosen.
Not a new idea, the shaft charging. Been around decades.

The interiors not exactly to my tastes, but I appreciate it so much, I love when designers think out of the box and go with more unique layouts and decor.

The interior is truly impressive and would work great in a luxury home. But it just seems to violate nautical sensibilities a little too much to feel right. The rest of the boat is amazing.

Hi Cindy,
Take nkte of the number of guest cabins and see the U tube of the small design crew delivering her to the Solent from Ipswich and their visit to the supermarket for provisions. This yacht is designed with stowage to feed the owner and his guests for long trips at sea, as well as water roys to play with when anchored off in warm water.
She may well sail like a day sailer but she has accomodation and stowage for a long term cruiser and, making 12 knots steadily ar 30 degrees off the wind, ocean passages will be fast.

This would be amazing in a home but in a boat, with the structural, movement, mechanical, safety and other constraints and functionality requirements- WOW. The craftsmanship is just amazing.

The speaks directly to my heart. I've never seen anything like this in my entire life. So pure. It reminds me of the first time as a little boy having my first wooden toy boat and playing with it in the pond... There must be so much joy for the owner. I keep watching the first 3 minutes over and over again, 12 knots... effortlessly. And the interior has everything you dream of as a young man. Anybody who watches this noble girl slipping through the water would fall in love instantly.
not only was the living space designed so well but even the mechanical space is like an engineers dream. truly beautiful in every way it can be.

The master-carpenter's master-carpenter had fun here... a joy to see the highest level of workmanship/artistry in wood, beautiful wood... Canadians will swoon!!!
The difference between a master carpenter and a master shipwright is that ships don't include a single straight line whereas furnithre is straight lines enbellished with a few curves.
Geist is the product of a team of experienced time served shipwrights.
This interior design would be amazing in a house. I've been playing with combining boat design with house design for a while and this gives me so many ideas

What a gorgeous combination of woodworking combined with immediate access to the inner mechanicals by just opening a panel. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there is so much to behold that I cannot imagine anyone not finding something that really speaks to them.

Just WOW...This has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! I don't think that it's all that "impractical". The system efficiency is incredible, which gives it a stellar range. Sure, space is usually a premium and every inch is always packed...but he knew he only wanted a max of 6...and at 111 ft, that just means that everyone has a ton of comfort and room while offering pretty darn good performance. That's one of those things that's really just about what you can afford. If you can afford lots of extra space and performance...then I say "go for it!"

As a boat builder and sailor since 1968, I find this creation to be Brilliant. Light years ahead of many in design and functionality. As for the living quarters, real sailors should love the simplicity, because most of our time is spent topside! 😎

She is an absolute diamond when it comes to working with wood. The British did the same thing with her aircraft from World War II. I feel the beauty on every strip of wood that has been pain stakenly made to enhance the following piece of wood.
British craftsmanship at it's very best. What a stunning looking yacht. Interior wise, although beautiful, wouldn't be my spec, but then again, my pockets wouldn't stretch to buying that table. What a very fortunate young man to have that kind of indulgence in his mid 30's. Good luck to you son & enjoy.

Wow. Wow. Wow! What a fantastic build. The craftsmanship is second to none. The vision behind this is extraordinary. This is not a boat, it’s a work of art. I only wish I could appreciate the sailing side of it, I’m sure it a very capable beast, but... I appreciate function over form. Still though, the craftsman that brought this thing to life are absolute magicians.

Indeed a work of Art. I prefect this to a superyacht replete with heliport, on deck jacuzzi and all the other ostentatious stuffs. Hopefully all this fancy can be converted to a 30+, making it somewhat accessibly to a smaller budget!

What a beauty! I'm totally bowled over by her grace and sophistication. Classic British craftsmanship in fusion with visionary 21st-century design features somewhat mitigate the pains of living in a largely messy present. This deeply aesthetic piece of plain of sailing serves to epitomise what the future could be about. Let's try and emulate it at all financial levels!

A masterpiece... that the word ! Absolutely magnificent yacht. When I discover the renders a couple years ago, I thought that was only a kind of “design concept”, but actually not, it’s true yacht now! That’s is the future of large yacht : uniqueness, eco-friendliness and technologically advanced. You won’t need to have the biggest yacht to be “cool” but the most outstanding on every sides, and no depending on the size every more.
