Baldwin is too powerful. In that I mean he makes you take a step into the reality of the American experience from the lens of the American Negro and forces you to deal with these realities in a way that does not allow for any avoidance of them. His work is so in your face that one will either embrace it or avoid it like a sexually transmitted disease. While his work and who James Baldwin was are inseparable the complexity of such is dangerously intriguing yet delightfully obsessive on all levels of critical thought. I consider James Baldwin as the wake up call to the America experience. Unfortunately, he and his work are in many circles best to be silenced so that status quo remains the "order" of the day. I choose disruption. Thank you James Baldwin for all of your confrontationality. America cannot become a more perfect union without you assignment being fulfilled. EXCELLENT!
