- Dale headed out solo for a Friday evening look around the Burntwood area. It's a lovely area of the country and a lot of lovely country pubs were found as well as some super places around Chasetown.
That was me in the glasses by the bar in the wych elm lol
Criminally underrated channel if you ask me. Can I give you a little suggestion? Totally up to you if you choose to do it but think It would ass some detail and depth to add time stamps to the different pubs you visit? Let me know if its something you'd consider going forward c:
Watch all your posts ... glad to see you enjoyed my local haunts
Pretty much covered the Burntwood area, the only one you missed is The Victoria.
I briefly rented a room from a guy that lived in Burntwood Green. Am I remembering correctly there's a pub called the wychelm?
There's a good 6 or 7 lost pubs from only a couple of decades ago there
Know where might be good? Hillsborough, Sheffield b/c it's not really regarded as a destination but a lot of good boozers, some mini/ micro brew pubs a little chain of 'Brass Monkeys' bars and sports bars with the SWFC connection being close.
Check it out on your 'tough job but somebody's got to...'
Opposite the Vintage Liquid Taphouse used to be 7's Wine Bar. And that bit is at Sankey's Corner which is Chase Terrace, not Burntwood. If you're from Chase Terrace, you don't like people saying it's Burntwood there! "The Cottage" in Chasetown.... noone local really bothered with that place once they reached 18 (grin). If you'd gone to this area 30 - 40 years ago it would have taken you much longer. There's only about a quarter of the pubs that there used to be back then
I miss the Greyhound
@@darrenthomas9928 Can't say I miss it, but did go there a lot in the early 80s. Spent more time in the Traveller's Rest which also no longer exists
See you in the town Crier at 4.30 👍
