They should know about soil nutrients and planting the same crop on the same soil will deplete all the nutrients on it. That's why fertilizers and crop rotations are important.
Humans have known about leaving some fields fallow for a season for centuries; it's the population growth that has made it more difficult to leave fields empty for so long because there is so much demand today. That's why we soak the fields in chemical fertilizers now instead of waiting for natural regeneration. Our success as a species is also our undoing.
The issue is monocropping, which exists because of animal agriculture. You can grow crops in a way that doesn't deplete the soil, but not as long as we feed them to animals, instead of eating ourselves. When you consider that around 75-90% of crops grown go to animal feed, you can see why large monocrop fields are so prevelant.
@@MarcusBritish The chemicals needed by plants are mainly nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus which are made from natural decaying matters. @@ED-yy4te "Don't get fooled by natural good, chemicals bad." Except this is the case, there's no fooling, scientific knowledge is a fact. You could get away with eating manure or drinking urea and it won't kill you, but just a sip of man-made fertiliser will definitely make you very sick, possibly hospitalise you and could even be fatal. You can find lead, arsenic, chromium, flouride, etc in fertilisers made from the "recycled waste" of the steel industry because of the zinc - hell, the fumes alone could knock you stone dead, let alone consuming it. Why do you think so many products are now being sold as "Organic" if synthetic stuff is better? All they really need is a good Nitrogen, Phosporus and Potassium mix but some farmers use products full of toxins either because it's cheap or purer stuff is unavailable locally. There’s a difference between being “ educated “ and “ intelligent “. They are naturally in tune and aware. There are geniuses who have no common sense .
Alot of banana plantations just got destroyed by the volcano that's currently erupting in the canary islands... also fun fact bananas are classified as berries
Actually, it had already gone extinct once. The bananas being eaten 100 years ago belonged to another breed of bananas that was much larger and sweeter. But then when the fruit companies wanted to increase the growth by cross-breeding with other breeds they introduced a disease that killed off that breed completely in a few decades. Current breed is resistant to that disease, but it is still susceptible to the environmental change. And edible bananas cannot breed themselves because there are no seeds. Humans would need to grow each generation from ground-up, just like seedless watermelons, which makes bananas even easier to go extinct if conditions go bad.
@@jacebishop157 I heard that there are varieties that are not affected by the disease but it's not the kind that western people somehow like? Most of the commercial banana crop is of the Cavendish variety. (I think they are reproduced asexually through horticultural means, probably grafting or cuttings or some other manual cloning.) They're endangered because of the lack of biodiversity.
@@patriciamorgan6545 Exactly. All the commercially grown Cavendish bananas come from a SINGLE specimen brought back to England and propagated from there, which means without the genetic diversity the Cavendish is highly susceptible to fusarium banana fungus (Panama disease). When I lived in Brisbane, we planted two banana plants, a Ladyfinger and a Blue Java under strict certification permits. But it was lovely to grow our own bananas. :)

I agree with you on what u have observed and said to Mama Mustafa. He is wise and educated to his surroundings. Me as one of the people from the rural sides, we can feel the effects of inorganic that is not common to be consumed in our body. As we blend in the urban zone, I felt we are slowly fading the senses, our connection to the ground and nature. Have you felt that inner instinct of vibration around yourself?
@@Kristers_K Also, what can the normal run of the mill person do? They always come out with these alarms but they never tell you what you can do. I try to save water and energy all I can, but there's got to be more. @@BmanNL1 I agree but it's not a tragedy that he has his own beliefs. We can take his sentiment just the same and still use our science to continue to make the world a better place. It's not always necessary to point out the shortcomings of others. Besides, he IS a wise man, relatively speaking.
Because of climate change is occuring right now, droughts last longer, the disruption of weather patterns, rainfall changes.....its a slippery slope for the plants & harder for them to survive & harder to adapt.
I like how I can walk 2 mins to the store and buy everything that was listed and I harvest my own honey, strawberries, avocados and maple syrup is everywhere where I live and have made my own but it’s very time consuming so I just buy it now
Those words hit hard. Allah apni nenmatein utha Lein ge. Please be grateful for what we have. Qayamat bohat nazdeek h Please for the sake of your own and everyone else's apni apni tayyari shuru karein..
And this doesn't necessarily apply to the villagers, though it would be the best for them if possible, but people in general need to start going vegan (nothing from animal products) and starting to replant plants and trees, and letting all beings live safe and in peace with their loved ones. People in general need to use their hearts and brains and be good to all not harming and destroying all...
I knew about most of them - but I was surprised by peanuts, avacados and strawberries, three of my favourites. We need more bees, less pollution and negative environmental impacts fueled by consumer demands. Especially in the west- most people have WAAAAY too much "stuff". They are right- all of these things are a gift and a privilege to eat and we are acting like spoiled brats and Mother Nature is fed up.
Deforestation is also impacting these foods. Particularly this is the caveat with avocado industry. It’s endangered because it requires orchards And the land to produce them which is destroying natural forests in Mexico. Some Farmers are harassed by drug cartel to control market trade so it has made it damaging to natural resources and dangerous in general.
Its too that sometimes people hold a set of beliefs so strongly that they refuse to consider any other ideas. Ultimately this can hold them back. And if they are someone of influence, they could be holding back many others as well.
That's because the Musa genus originated in your area- you have real biodiversity there, and that's great. The problem is with fusarium and other diseases ravaging commercial plantations growing monocultured/clone crops of Cavendish bananas. I doubt they'll go truly extinct, but their availability will decrease over the next few decades, especially for people in non-tropical areas.

You should show them some science videos so they understand things better.
And what would that even change? Without taking action, information is useless.
Why? Are we really better off for it?
@@Kristers_K Also, what can the normal run of the mill person do? They always come out with these alarms but they never tell you what you can do. I try to save water and energy all I can, but there's got to be more. I talked to a botany professor to see if there was any way I could help the cause of the bees locally--and she just kind of laughed in my face. A botanist, and she didn't care.
@@Kristers_K what a stupid thing to say. Being informed is the first step to taking effective actions.
@@BombaJead Ironically, it's the villagers like Mustafa who are more informed/understanding of the ecosystems and fragile nature of regenerative status of agriculture whom we perceive as ignorant in the rush for more money and gold lined teeth and cars. He's correct - we're knowledgable of our destruction of the planet, yet take no action to dissuade it.
Love the narrator ™❤️💯
Why did we not see them get to try the strawberries, avocado or maple syrup? I would like to see them experience ALL these wonderful things. part two please!
This was the only sad video I have ever seen, and it is about a subject that affects us all. Bees in particular make me so sad. Honey is such a precious gift. We al are, all living things, so precious and need to be giving care and thanks to all.
Such an important message. We need to take care now if our children are to have a chance tomorrow.
Mustafa is speaking some serious truth in this one.

I AGREE ABOUT THE HUGE ROTI😍😍😍I would love one!!
Thought provoking topic.
I loved the video!! I have to be... I've watched quite a few of your videos before subscribing tonight.. Should have done it way sooner!! Y'all are wonderful people!! Would love to sit and share a home cooked southern meal with all of you!! Love from Tallahassee, Florida USA! 💞
Oh, please put sugar into these lovely people's coffee ☕💝
some milk would help as well
Me watching this video very calm thanks to the music. Sees honey NO NOT MY HONEY. Im eating that right now with peanut butter and crackers.
Mustafa is such a wise man .
No he is not. He thinks some god is taking care of things, we are we should take care of things. I do not blame him because it is just lack of education. He thinks science is bad but the world is growing to ten billion people, we need science to feed all the people.
@@BmanNL1 I agree but it's not a tragedy that he has his own beliefs. We can take his sentiment just the same and still use our science to continue to make the world a better place. It's not always necessary to point out the shortcomings of others. Besides, he IS a wise man, relatively speaking.
@@BmanNL1 He is a wise man ,I don’t care what you say . If you know how to save the world go fix it .
@@jesslvrde6027 save the world or save Humanity? The world will keep on spinning around. Humanity cannot be saved, we are destructive by nature.
So you think his comment that "scientist are just making things up" was wise?
Kids trying Nutella was awesome♥️💜❤️❤️
Love them all....another great video ....Sabeena and Rana guys are my favs ...but love all
I feel like crying....may God the almighty help us😭
Ameen, i'm also goign through a tough time..

I didn't know any of these foods were endangered!!!🤷🤷♀️🤷
Because of climate change is occuring right now, droughts last longer, the disruption of weather patterns, rainfall changes.....its a slippery slope for the plants & harder for them to survive & harder to adapt.
I like how I can walk 2 mins to the store and buy everything that was listed and I harvest my own honey, strawberries, avocados and maple syrup is everywhere where I live and have made my own but it’s very time consuming so I just buy it now
I would dig for well to get water. Maybe might help with garden.
A good idea, but wells often need to go very deep and i dont think a lot of villagers have the money or resources to take on such an endeavor.
Those words hit hard. Allah apni nenmatein utha Lein ge. Please be grateful for what we have. Qayamat bohat nazdeek h Please for the sake of your own and everyone else's apni apni tayyari shuru karein..
Let us take this into account that if we don't act and stop climate change, these foods will disappear FOREVER.
we live or not these should remain .... wow what a line ❤️
I really wanted to comment on the kids video...they aree sooo cute!!!!
In indonesia , you can find banana like on the side of the road, i'm suprised it's endangered.
Sebab orang western memilih jenis pisang. Kalau kita asalkan pisang rasa sedap makan aje.
Those are wild bannanas
The cavendish has no seeds, is vulnerable to fungus
Indonesia and many tropical countries have local variaties of banana. The GMO one (Cavendish) is prone to diseases
Ahhhhh i see now , makes sense.
0:27 Bro LENTILS!. I agree best single food for me. Onions garlic coriander cumin chipotle peppers butter or olive oil. Best cheapest healthiest thing ever.
I want to be a part of the revolution that Mustafa leads! 😅
Hai... thank you for all this video it is indeed entertaining and these individuals have their own opinions, taste, they are very frank with their comments. I love it if you could bring them to the beach/seaside, visit tall building or maybe go bungee jumping. Hear and see what is their reaction. This is something like popolur TV series Mind Your Language
Mehboob's giggle is infectious :)
Ngl I almost shed a tear when I heard chocolate being endangered 😢
Mama is truly wise.
5:14 That bug on the left is eyeing the honey lol
can you tell me why is rice endangered? it grows plenty in Bangladesh and the production is going higher and higher in diet of increasing temperature.
Rainfall and water abailability
Rice requieres ALOT of water, and alot of nations that grew it, have gone trough drougths
A good video. Tribal people who live close to natur understand things better.
Overall rice production will dive deep after 2030.
Had no idea these foods were considered endangered now. That's sad. Hope we can preserve them somehow.
♥️
Manzoor and Mehboob are the perfect double act. You can tell they've known each other since forever.
Can you put some sugar in there coffee, I'm sure they'll like it more.
perfection
Couldn't give better chocolate than Hersheys bar? LOL
Forgive me if it's been done but have they tried southern food? Gravy and biscuits, Fried Chicken, sweet tea, etc. Id love to see their reaction to it
I almost thought you going to give them turtle's eggs or something 😱
I love the fact that they have an acceptance of once it's gone its gone. It sucks but nothing you can do.
that thumbnail is so funny but i dont know why
Mustafa is the wisest man there
