Looking forward to the next video. At 57:07, the arc welder costs 1 endurance card to equip during the equip step, not to use. Aliens and blip's DO continue their movement if they break down a barricade.
You are absolutely correct about the arc welder I’ll make sure to put a note in the video. Glad the aliens are able to move in after the barricade makes it more thematic and deadly thanks Rev for the help and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Hahahahha!!! Yeah super cliffhanger. I was recording and I couldn’t resist stoping there! 😂😂😂. Don’t worry won’t have to wait long only a week and we will see what happens to are brave marines thanks Killi for the great comment and as always thanks for watching 😃😃👍
To save on deck handling have a separate face down deck for the endurance returns ,placing order does not matter as they will be shuffled when the reshuffle card is exposed. Cannot do the same for the exhaust deck as order is important for discard purposes but it will save some time and wear as most reveals are from the endurance deck.
That’s a good idea. You totally right on the endurance deck. I’ll probably start doing that and show it in the next video as an option for people. Thanks for the great idea and thanks Starman for watching 😃😃👍
These are fantastic videos. You've really explained the game very well (aside from a couple of minor errors which always happens when playing solo). Thank you for these. I do have a question about LoS...the white lines...are Marines not able to see past those? I didn't think they were walls - I thought they were "like" chest height or something and you could see over them. Anyway - fantastic - you have so much energy you've made the game super exciting!
Thank you. Yes LoS was harder to grasp then most games for some reason. I’m glad I was able to help. make sure to read the comments section there is some great help from the community. Thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Known errors 1. forgot to activate Gorman on turn 2 and only one action on turn 3 2. LoS on the first turn for Vasquez should have revealed the token. 3. I misrepresented the barrier rule in this game. If an alien gets through the barrier they will continue their movement.
Absolutely loving these. A small question. At 53:39 when you moved Frost. You ended his first movement on top of a marine. Of course you moved him a second time, but can you end a movement on top of a marine even if moving again? You still would have ended the same spot moving him around, just curious. Keep em comming!!!!
1:20:20 you talk about the movement of the Alien to the APC.. however, I think you have the move thru barricade wrong (sorry if I am the wrong one here ^^) - according to the rules: Alien WILL STOP moving when: 1. runs out of speed 2. moves into a space next to a Character 3.fails to pass through a Barricaded door (pg. 20) - from that I understand that if an Alien had remaining move points left, it can try to break a barricade and if it passes, it continues its movement. It does not refer specifict to this time, but during a previous turn you told you would stop an alien movement when it tries to break a barricade and therefore, it would not go in if successful. Let me know if you think otherwise! Cheers and looking forward for the part 2 omg! awesome!! :)
You are both 100% correct I misunderstood how that works I thought it was a little weird that they wouldn’t keep going. I’m going to make a note in the video and discuss this before mission 3. Thanks for the help and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
At 11:00 (ish) I think you get the Line of Sight (LOS) rules wrong. Page 13 says that spaces with WHITE lines do not block LOS but are impassable. Think of them as desks etc. Therefore Vasquez would have seen and revealed the third blip (and could have hit it straight away). Love the videos, just got the bundle myself and am hoping to paint and play over Christmas.
Thank you I’m glad you are enjoying the series. Yes you are correct, I missed a LoS for Vasquez. I will make sure to put a note in the video. Hope you get to play this soon. I may miss a few of these her and there, but thanks for the help and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
1:20:40 Correct as Alien movement only stops if "It fails to pass through a Barricaded door" strangely it doesn't take any movement for the Alien attempt to break the barricade.
I agree that breaking down a door should eat up some movement. I feel like it really should eat up all of their movement though and that there should just be a rule that you can't barracade a door if there's an enemy adjacent to it to solve people cheesing barracades.
The tokens underneath the aliens seem a bit clunky. Lots of knocking over models and picking up to put back down and pick up again. Can't help but think there's a better way to design that. I also think it would be neat if there were 1-2 vents in certain areas of the map that allow the Aliens to cross through walls when running toward the nearest marine.
That would be really cool to have those vents. I like that’s idea. I wish they would have put the aliens on a dial that would have been cool. Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I might home brew some rules for vents on the one shot missions to up the difficulty. Probably a bit too OP for campaign though 😃 Do you know if the designers plan to do any more expansions for the game outside of the ones already released?
That’s not a bad idea house rules to make the game more fun is the way to go. I don’t have any info on upcoming expansions beyond what has been released. Let’s hope there is. 😃😃👍
33:34 - vasquez gets attacked by the Alien because of the "bone head move" as you said - are you sure that the rest of the crew could not defensive fire on that Alien? I think I understand that Vasquez cannot do that since she is standing right next to it but for the rest of them? thanks for answering that for me.
Thanks a great question. For how I understand the rules the first part is alien movement. Then under defensive fire it states the if an alien ends its movement adjacent to a character the you can preform defensive fire. So from that i feel that Alien adjacent to a character didn’t move so there is no defensive fire. I could be wrong and it could have moved 0 squares but thematicly I feel the alien was there and no one can react fast enough before it attacks as opposed to running up and getting shot at. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
So love your videos ...I'm a die hard alien fanatic. my sister has this game and I can't wait to play it. What paints do you use to paint minis, as I will be painting for her? First time painting minis

Watching this play through has me even more excited to play myself! Have to be honest after watching the first mission I got the impression the game may be a bit too easy, but this second mission looks to really ramp up the difficulty. I’m curious how difficult the bug hunts are, do you plan on playing one of those on the channel as well? I just got my email confirmation finally that my “all in” order is being shipped, probably won’t have it until after Christmas but glad it’s finally on the way!
I agree with you I was a little worried I play the first mission twice and it seemed to go rather well. This second mission has been a blast. I will look into the big hunts I think I might do one we shall see. Thanks for the great idea. No hope you get your game soon, and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
You are correct a roll of 10 or anything that adds up to 10 will kill a hero or grunt. The interesting thing is the 10 sided die provided with this game puts the star on the 1 not the 10. So I actually rolled really good for my defense roll. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Looks good, but no acid splash rules yet I feel takes away the tension of having the Aliens just get next to you. Would of loved to see all of the marines as starting characters for this mission as it would of made more like the film. Would be great to have a mix of the 1st board game where you have all the marines in the reactor mission , no pulse rifles unless frost lives ( as he does in this version) to redistribute ammo to those who survive the initial onslaught which seems to be workable with these rules. I like the endurance idea and dials for aiming with the latest version I have seen so far, also the cards & being able to seal things shut. Aother popular one for minis, wargaming and Xwing is 'Army Painter: Target Lock Laser Line' but essentially the same thing. they come with batteries installed.
Great video! It did make me think though... So I figure about 150 colonists, right? Assuming that they were all hosts (which some were likely killed rather than taken as hosts) I wonder if in the course of a campaign you would actually end up taking out 150 aliens. If you kept track of them and actually did it, could you say that you won the game?
I like your theory. I’ll have to give it a shot. See if I can take out 150 of them before they destroy me. Thanks for the great comment thanks Garrett for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable LoL, I just watched the 2nd half of this scenario. Well done. It was super epic and tense. I actually kept track of every alien you took out. Great news! In just the 2nd half of the escape mission, you took out 70 aliens!! That means in just half a scenario you inflicted 47% casualties on the alien hoard on this planet. Well done. My guess is that if you add up all videos, you more than took out the entire hive!
I beat your right. Sadly I’m sure those marines we seeing shadows that were not there and thought they were taking out more that they did, but that’s awesome. Can’t believe you counted all the aliens lol!!! Thanks for the awesome comment I will be returning to LV426 soon. Thanks as always for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I guess you could also get around the limit by assuming that some or all of those aliens with stacks under them were actually a single alien with a little more hp than the others without a stack (maybe they had heavier armor for some reason so it takes several hits to take them out). In any event, well done.
1:17:00 Full Auto Vasquez could still fire at the third Alien , see Page 17 rule and examples "....has the Full Auto ability, so he may continue to fire until he misses a shot. He picks another Alien in Line of Sight, Exhausts a card, and rolls again......... She can fire at the Alien in the same room as her and at the Alien in the next room because..."
Playing with three heroes , one carrying flame thrower , does not seem to be much of an extra overhead , especially as it does not impact weapons or equipment loadouts and means you only draw 1 motion tracker card per Hero, improves Rest actions and gives you far greater flexibility for turn order and grunt activation (each Hero only chooses up to it's rank)
I probably didn’t explain what I meant very well. What I meant was giving a flamethrower to Hicks he would be able use it and then two other grunts that he activates could finish off what he left or could fire at other aliens. For example I used Hicks to fire at other aliens in hope that frost could take out the close ones with his flamethrower which was sadly less than stellar. Having the hero with the flamethrower would have given me the opportunity to use 2 grunts to finish off those remaining aliens. Hope that make sense. Thanks for the great comment Starman 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I understood what you were saying, thought would add that playing with three heroes was little overhead for more options and 1 les flipping blip card(motion tracker card) per turn.
Oh sorry yes I get what your saying. Yeah that makes total sense. Maybe I would have played 3 but since I made that error on drawing motion tracker cards in the first playthrough I wanted to make sure people understood how that worked. Beside it’s like playing in hard mode lol!!! 😃😃👍
Great question. You can use the grenade action from the pulse rifle as a free action after you fire the gun. When you activate that free action you do everything on the grenade card. So the Benefit is being able to use it as a free action. Of course you have to have a grenade in the backup slot. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
That is true I am horrible at this game. I have learned a ton and got a lot better I hope to return to LV-426 soon. Glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching 😃😃👍
btw, at your very first turn, shouldn´t have Vasquez have revealed all 3 blips (not 2)? Cause you can "draw" a straights line beside the wall. (It seems that there is no LOS, a line of sight doesnt need to be drawn diagonaly it can be straight too.) from Vasquez corner straight line across the wall to 3rd blips corner. Just wondering, cause in star wars IA its legit to draw a line of sight across/beside the wall. I know, i know those are two diferent games. one game needs two lines and Alien only 1 line Just wondering.. up until know i play that Vasquez see the 3rd blip too, there is no horizontal obstacle that stops the line from reaching the 3rd blip
You are correct I should have revealed the token there are probably a few other LoS errors in this campaign, but to your point yes. I would believe you could draw a line of sight straight down that hallway. Thanks for catching that and asking the question. And thanks as always for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable 1st turn, blip phase, the lower blip can be seen (long diagonal line). Sorry I played a LOT of Star wars Imperial Assault, so you had to use every milimeter, in order reach a safe place from opponents, and get a great line of sight.

@@EviLNox8 that’s awesome!! I need to order the expansions soon. It would be epic to play the Gorman card on him!! 😃😃👍
What is the light you are using to check your line-of-site.
Great question!! I picked it up in Amazon. I’ll put the link here for you. I also know army painter sells a similar item.
HF tools 93242 Laser Cutting Straight Guide LINE Mark Attachment for Power Tool Saw Lazer Light, White www.amazon.com/dp/B01LY598F1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_0c-3FbCMVJEJD
Thanks. loved the chat. I so want to bring this back out now and totally up my death count as we go lol!!! 😃😃👍
You are right Starman, but I think there was a marine in her LOS. So I couldn’t fire at that other alien. Thanks for the great comment 😃😃👍
The pulse rifles have a grenade option. How and when is it used?
Great question. You can use the grenade action from the pulse rifle as a free action after you fire the gun. When you activate that free action you do everything on the grenade card. So the Benefit is being able to use it as a free action. Of course you have to have a grenade in the backup slot. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the great question and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
I wonder if the marines can do it, they have a lot of trouble on all sides :D
I have faith in them. I don’t have faith in my dice rolling. I think they the Aliens have impregnated them 😂😂👍
Today continue show?
I have bad news Friday it will hit the channel. 😃😃👍
You ARE "terrible" at this game... 😂 but... I LOVE THIS VIDEO!
That is true I am horrible at this game. I have learned a ton and got a lot better I hope to return to LV-426 soon. Glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I am on board for another few videos from you on this game... for sure!
Sweet I hope to get a hold of the expansions and give it a try again. 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Go Bro GOooo!
btw, at your very first turn, shouldn´t have Vasquez have revealed all 3 blips (not 2)? Cause you can "draw" a straights line beside the wall. (It seems that there is no LOS, a line of sight doesnt need to be drawn diagonaly it can be straight too.) from Vasquez corner straight line across the wall to 3rd blips corner. Just wondering, cause in star wars IA its legit to draw a line of sight across/beside the wall. I know, i know those are two diferent games. one game needs two lines and Alien only 1 line
Just wondering.. up until know i play that Vasquez see the 3rd blip too, there is no horizontal obstacle that stops the line from reaching the 3rd blip
@@lifeofeddie8185 totally right it is really hard to hide from these aliens but that is really thematic 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Turn 3, the Marine, Hicks, (closest to the tunnel) has LOS a 45 angle diagonal line to the Alien. the other marine and the corner dont block line of sight. you can draw an uninterupted LOS.
@@MeetMeAtTheTable the Only time when you dont have to resolve hazard cards is when they (hazard cards) are revealed due to a motion tracker cards ability. turn 4 Burkes treachery. Rulebook under endurance card types and also mentioned in one other page
what is that light you use for line of sight? i totally need one of those.
Great question. I found it on amazon ill link it below. I know that Army Painter also sells one if you check out the web site.

So far, so alive...
Oh this was my favorite of the missions so far it was super fun and thematic just running to the APC like in the movies and kissing people along the way!! 😃😃👍
That does not look like the next video is going to go well for the marines lol
Hahahahah!!! I’m sure they will find a way out. Or will they..... those dice are terrible to me lol!!! Thanks Brandon as always for watching 😃😃👍
Sacrifice Frost they always take a black guy in these types of movies to do something heroic like Carl Weathers in Predator
That flame unit is so good!! I have started using more of them on my heroes. 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable do you think the game would be just a little bit easier if you took out all the blips of 4, 5?
And then when you're out of blips and models you just ignore the cards four motion tracker?
Very true this game is really easy to house rule to make it enjoyable to all people. 😃😃👍
will you play and show us how to play expansion such as?
Aliens: Ultimate Badasses
Aliens: Get Away From Her, You B***h!
That’s a great question. Sadly I was only sent the core game. I am going to buy the expansions as soon as I can I think they will add a ton to this game, but sadly I don’t have them at the present time. When I get them I would love to do another playthrough showing them off. Thanks for for the great question. 😃😃👍
