My interest is 1958-1972 Johnson-Evinrude 1-125 HP because that's what I have a Seloc repair manual for. (that I purchased from T-Mike) I stick with the 4-10 HP Johnson engines. Great little dependable bulletproof engines. Thanks for the history lessons and please make more videos like this one.
Hello Mike. I am in the UK. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post these videos. So far I have restored a 6hp Evinrude which was seized but managed to get it going and sold it on. I have 2- 4hp Evinrudes. Recently I bought a 1984 2 hp Evinrude and restored with new electrics and a transistorised Ignition module to replace points and condenser. Your videos very useful to me. Many thanks Peter Joe Hull
Been restoring mid to late 30s motors for awhile. Since I live by the Ohio river and in a large lakes area there is a demand for cabin folks to display vintage motors. What I found out is that they will pay for non running motors since they don't want anything to "drip". Makes restoring alot easier an profitable. profitable.
Minnasota & Wissconson ? Wisconson , I don't know how to spell it . That's where all the great buys on old outboard motors and boats are at . Wesconson , Wisconson , I don't know . The place where they have that bad football team .
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Just restored a 9.9 hp motor for a Jon boat my uncle left me with the help of your channel. I can’t thank you enough; it means a lot!
Great video Mike….lots of information and very informative. I use many of the methods you do. Up here in central Canada a lot of the old outboards go for around $50 on average. I guess lower priced because of our short season. I have collected approximately 100 or so in about 4 years of collecting. Anyway keep the videos coming my friend. 👍
I recently purchased a 1966 Johnson outboard motor, and I'm going through the process of rebuilding the motor. I got a new water pump, thermostat, and ignition system to get it back on the water soon. Thanks again and great video.

I'm picking up another Johnson 10HP tomorrow for the kids. Making mini hydroplanes for them. They're going to have so much fun. Thanks for all of your helpful videos TMike.
One tip I can give you is they used the same motors in post hole augers at that time , the brand name eludes me at this time but often when something has a different application parts can be found easier on a different circuit sometimes cheaper.
Thanks for all your teaching and tips . I'm looking for a 6-10 hp motor and considering an evenrude fisherman model love the simpisty of that motor. Your thoughts thanks Chris
Just bought a1955 evenrud. The seller had a history with the motor and maintenance records.

Hi Mike, how about the motors that were made in the thirties? Are they restorable?
Not really.
