One of my proudest moments was when my son who is now a senior in high school was in kindergarten. I had just out 20.00 in his lunch account at school in Monday and I got a text from the school saying he had no money left on Friday. Now I always sent a lunch with him, but he would get a snack or slushie, a snack. So I asked him what happened to his money in his account. He told me "mommy there a two kids in my class that don't always have a lunch so I bought them lunch so they wouldn't be hungry. " All I could do was hug him and cry, the innocence of a child is something to behold.

My oldest son was about 10 yrs old when this happened. We were out at a fast food restaurant and we just got finished eating. He asked me for a couple of dollars because he needed something. I thought he was going for dessert but as I watched I was real proud. He went to the counter and purchased a value meal but walked right past me and went outside. I followed him. He handed the bag to a woman and little boy sitting on the curb. She was holding a sign that read "Will work for food". He told them to keep their heads up, you might be at the rock bottom right now but the only place to go from here is up. That was the same thing I told one of my friends a few days before. Yes very proud of my boy. He leaves for boot camp in June for the Army National Guard.

My proud parent moment came when I was at my VA appointment with my lil man who has petite mal seizures. He was scared that he would have an episode and I told him as long as he wore my special sunglasses, no one could see him and he wouldn't have to worry about having a seizure. He grabbed my glasses and the other veterans had heard our conversation played along and asked where he went. It's amazing how much we stick together as brothers and sisters whilst out of service. That moment is my proudest as a parent and a veteran.

I always told my kids "you'll never know until you try." They are 16, 16, and 14. Earlier this year, they confronted me about a book I wrote when they were babies. I still hadn't published it. "You'll never know until you try, Mom. That's what you always tell us." That moment... When my lesson was proven learned (and used against me lol), was amazing. It's published, now. The look in their eyes when they told me they were proud of me was even better.

I enrolled in college when I found out that I was having my first boy (now I have two boys) to set a good example for them. My first son sees me reading my textbooks, writing papers, and taking exams all the time. Well, about a month ago, out of nowhere, he decided to pick up a book and pretend he was reading for school so he could be like his dad. At that moment, I knew that he was looking up to me. That was my proudest moment. To this day, he will put on his little backpack and run to the door to go to "school" (he can't because he is only 2 but he already knows education is mandatory).

My son is 43. So many proud moments … Last month he took me to Washington DC to visit "The Wall".
There is a book at the entrance that lists all the names on the wall and where they ae located.
I wanted to check on some names … then we started down the path … I said, wait … there's another name I gotta check .. he said OK.
I had other names I wanted to check …
finally I said " You know I'm just stalling." He said " I know, dad. When you're ready … no rush, we have all day"
He knew how hard it was going to be … he just was there to support me … and that meant everything to me. …..

One of my proud parent moments was when my son stood up for his sister. She was being bullied and he punched the kid and told him that that is his little sister and he was the only one who could mess with her cause he didn't mean it. That was years ago....

    • @elizabethlipinski5032
      @elizabethlipinski5032 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I did this for both my brother and sister at some point. I didn't punch the kid if they were younger than me but there was one kid older than me that I hit because he was picking on kids that were a lot younger and not just my siblings but other kids as well. I gave him a black eye and a bloody nose. Some of the parents approved others did not, but I stood up for someone who couldn't do it themselves.

I just found your channel and love this song.
I have 2 boys 21 and 18 now. Back in 2014 i was injured at work with a fractured c1 and severe head trauma that has left me disabled.
Now my wife and i have always tried to teach these boys to always look out for not just each other but others too. Family is the most important thing but being a kind and good human being is as well.
So after our oldest graduates ( another proud moment ) he gets a job not to save up and spread his wings but to stay home and help the family. Our 18 year old started his senior year this year. He chose to use his last summer vacation to get a job so he could help as well.
Now ever since i got hurt they have always been there to assist my wife with helping me. If i fall they are there to either catch me or pick me up. They have also gotten overly protective.
I know kids should be there for their family but it isnt just me they are like this with. They will reach out to complete strangers if they think they are in need of help of any kind.
My boys do things daily that just melts me and makes me believe we have done something right.

Just let him. It was a proud moment because in today's world it's harder than when I was a kid. Just found your channel and am loving it. Proud parent moment: my niece was doing a project for a girl scout silver award. She was collecting donations of pet food and donating it to a local food pantry so families that fell on hard times could keep their pets.
We found out that because of a technicality, her project might not qualify for the silver award. Her immediate response was I don’t care. The award is not the important part. These people and the pets need help so I am going to help them.
We were able to fix the technical issue so she did earn the award in the end but the award is long over and she still collects pet food to donate.
And an ongoing proud moment: we foster for an animal shelter. At one point we fostered a hamster for a week. I found out the hamster was actually very old. My niece wanted to adopt him and I told her he could die literally at any time. She said that does not matter. He deserves a family and love for however long he has left and we can give him that. She was 8 at the time. So of course we adopted little Abner. And she now exclusively adopts the senior aged hamsters that no one else is likely to want. Our home has become a hamster retirement home where they spend the last bit of their lives spoiled and loved by an amazing young advocate who is training her younger brother to follow in her footsteps.

My proudest moments, always seem to involve my oldest. My son. He is just so darn polite. Every adult who interacts with him, for any length of time, always comments to is how refreshing it is to hear a child with such wonder manners. He uses phrases like "may I." Now he is 15, and I got an email from his 9th grade Geography teacher, telling me what a pleasure he is to work with, and how polite and mature he is. He has even recieved an itegrity award at school, for helping a severely disabled child at school. He is always trying to make this child smile, and he is always trying to include him in what he and his friends are doing. Teachers picked up on that, and gave him an award for integrity. So yeah. I'm pretty proud. 🥰❤

One of my proud parent moment is last 4th of July my family was gathered at my step dads parents house. Lots of people lots of kids. My brothers band was playing. Had fireworks. The works. Well a little girl was epileptic and her parents didn’t make sure she had her meds and with the lights of the fireworks she started seizing really bad. A lot of kids were crying and freaking out. He got up to the microphone (mind you he’s typically shy) and started telling knock knock jokes while the grown ups were trying to take care of the little girl waiting for the ambulance. He got a lot of the kids that were upset and scared feeling better and even had some adults going along with him. I was so so so proud of him. It enabled the little girl who was having seizures to not be swarmed by so many people and he continued to keep up with the knock knock jokes going for a little bit after she was taken away in the ambulance. The night ended early but he brought calm during the storm shall I say. He stepped completely out of his comfort zone.

This song kind of gets to me. My son had the exact same pajamas as the kid in this video. The dinosaurs on the pajamas glowed in the dark. He's been watching me all these years. He's 16 now, and I'm a proud dad of the man he's growing into. I've seen him pull up Christian songs on his phone while we were sitting on the porch figuring out the world's problems, and then raise his hands to the Lord as a pre-teen. I definitely have my faults but I must be doing something right. He's an old soul in a young man's body and I'm a proud dad. Love, love, love this song!

    Proud Parent Moments:
I have two sons. One graduated high school last year and of course I am proud of him working hard and walking across that stage but he spent 5 years in the school band and I am so proud of him being committed and dedicated to the practice and the skills he had to acquire to be part of it for so long. He has spent some time of his own in also trying to learn how to pick a guitar.
His brother was in the band for 2 years. He's only a sophomore and still has a couple years to go before he can walk the stage and get his advanced diploma but while he has left the school band, he has turned his attention to making his own music. He has a couple of albums that are in no way big but they are a testament to his desire to do more.
My parents were proud of me for earning a vocal scholarship to attend college and I can be proud in saying that my love, as well as my husband's love, of music has trickled down to our children and had a positive influence in their lives.

You posted this a few years ago but you made me remember one of my proudest parent moments. I was pregnant and we were living in Alaska, it's where my husband was stationed for 9 years. I was going to the grocery store and he was going to wait in the car, but he got out to help me cross the icy road then went back to wait, at least thought he went back to the car. Instead the whole time I was shopping he was out in the freezing cold with several feet of snow and ice on the ground and he was helping the elderly and anyone else who needed support in the icy weather by loading their groceries, helping them cross the road, running back to give their bagger the tip that they tried to give him. Some of them asked him if he worked for the BX. xD He did this for the whole 1 1/2 hours that I was shopping for groceries. He was 14 then. He's 21 now and he always goes above and beyond to help people. One time I asked him what motivates him to do all that he does and he said he's watched me help people his whole life (I'm a psychologist) and he wanted to put in some contribution as well. So VERY proud of him.

My youngest is 15, I knew I had done something right when having a discussion, the question was posed to him, if you could be anyone in the world, who would you like to be? His answer, "I don't want to be anyone else, I'm happy being me." Mind blown, because even adults often wish they could be someone else, but he is so content with himself and his life, he has no desire to trade places. Truly made me cry with joy, I had done something so right with him...💞

When my daughter, in 5th grade, sang "The National Anthem" for the South Region Teacher of The Year Luncheon, in front of 1/3 of the principals, assistant principals and their schools' Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year of all of Miami-Dade County. Later, when she sang Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" on stage at Gilbert's in the Florida Keys. Then again when she graduated high school with a full ride to college.
Every time my son would hold his grandmother's hand to "help her walk" when he was in elementary school. When his car designs won first AND second place at the Regional Ten80 competition and took his team to Nationals, where those same designs won "Rookie of the Year" awards and, this past summer, when he landed an Internship with Miami-Dade Public Schools at our school's IT "Tech Squad".
Sorry if it's long. But it's in no way complete. My kids are now 21 and 17 and I am proud of them every day of their lives.

Every time we go over to my parents house, whether my 9 month old boy is crank that day or not, whenever he gets to my sister, he smiles and laughs at her. Idk if he knows that it makes her days brighter, but I’m proud of him for being a ray of sunshine nonetheless.

I am not a parent but I am an older sister to an amazing brother and sister. I was so proud when they graduated high school with high honors. They both worked so hard and I was there to help in any way I could. My mom was also working on her master's degree so the four of us were in school at the time. I graduated 7-8 years before my siblings with high honors. My brother and sister followed in my foot steps and are doing very well in collage now. I can't wait to see them graduate from collage and live life to the fullest.

I like to teach my 3 year old son what it is to have respect and to be kind to everyone. My proud parent moment was just recently. My wife was having a difficult parenting day, when my 4 month old daughter was being especially fussy. He noticed this and pulled my wife to the side and said: mommy, I'm so proud of you. When she asked why, he said be I love you so much. I was very proud of my little dude.

My kid @5 has such a heart for doing right and for the picked on. I have seen him step between a small kid and a much larger boy at the park to stand up to the bully and start screaming “That’s not nice! You do not act that way to him!” With such vigor you know he will throw down to help the helpless. And he knew neither of the children! As a guy who was bullied mercilessly as a kid, I was beaming!

Proud parent moment...My son was 18 and 3 days away from heading to Navy boot camp. We've always been close, I was a single parent until he was 14 so it was always us against the world. He has always been a great kid and usually made good choices for himself and he got the freedoms that go along with that trust. We were out to eat and in the booth across from us was a family with preteens who were just acting a fool all over the place and the parents did nothing. He looks at me and say, "You know mom, I'm really glad I had you for a mom." I say, "Well thanks son, but you still have me you know." He said, "I mean, growing up. I'm glad I had you because you actually parented me. You would have never let me get away with doing that...(points to the other booth) in public." I said, "The difference here is, you would have NEVER thought to even do that in public because you learned at home that kind of behavior gets you nowhere." He said, "Well, I wanted you to know that I love and appreciate you for all you did for me growing up. I know how hard you worked and that's why I always tried to do the best I could to make things easier on you." ....I mean jeez y'all...I was pretty much bawling in public, but I couldn't ask for a better son than the one I got, which is a surprise because I was a horrible kid!

Proud parent moment, I have a little girl who’s turning 2 in a couple weeks (wow they grow so fast!) I brought my wife and daughter home to Canada from China in February due to the pandemic, in China we had 2 dogs 1 was a Husky and my daughter had grown up with them and loves animals, so when we came to Canada we’ve been staying on my parents farm and they have a Great Pyrenees puppy, my daughter has had a love hate relationship with it since we arrived until a few days ago she conquered her fears and I found her outside hugging this Great Pyrenees around the neck. :)

One of my proudest parent moments was one day, as we were leaving Walmart there were 2 young boys holding a sign saying that they were cold and hungry. My daughter happened to have some coats in her Jeep that she was intending to donate to the Goodwill. We each contributed $5, and she pulled over and got out and gave each of the boys a coat, and a $5 bill. It was so beautiful and random that I almost cried. My daughter is grown, 23. But, she still makes me proud to be her momma!

This song always gets my eyes watery, this was me and my dad. My first job was when I was 13 years old helping my dad put torch down roofing in the middle of July. I impressed him by refusing to take a break until he did, and working 8 hours a day without complaint. At the end of the week I was a 13 year old with a 300 dollar check. Instead of buying toys I had my dad take me to buy a tool belt and tools, because my dad wore one so I wanted one too, just like his. I had bought a wallet before I had anything to put in it because Dad had a wallet, and a pocket watch before I even cared what time it was. Now I have a 3 year old daughter and hope to have another kid, and I can only hope I’m anywhere near the dad mine was.

My husband was military for many years (now a disabled vet, with very little filter). By around a yr and half, I caught our oldest son, standing in front of a mirror repeating the "F" word over and over. He would make different faces, and change the tone of his voice, as he did it. All I could do was laugh, because it was so darn cute. For the most part we tried to correct them all (3 kids) when they would curse. However, it's hard when their dad struggled to shut off the military mouth.
As for proud parent moment? There has been so many of them. We've been through a ton of struggles, but my kids are great. They are currently 23, 20 and 15 (2 boys and a girl). They are polite, treat others kindly, and our family is super close. They make me laugh almost everyday, and are so good to each other as well.

First time my daughter swore was hilarious. My husband is a trucker and my father was a marine, we don't always have the best language. My mom used to fuss at us about how we were going to teach the baby bad words.
Well, we weren't the first to teach her that kind of language. One day we were at mom's house and she called my husband a smart ass. The baby was in a pen playing nearby and she popped up and looked at us "aaaa aaaaa aaaaass."
As for a moment that made us proud? I don't even know, there are so many. This kid is only three but she speaks like a much older child, that and with her being tall like daddy noone ever believes she's just 3. She jokes like a big kid, makes up songs, plays tricks, especially on daddy. She cracks us up and keeps us on our toes. Even her pediatrician has referred to her as a genius.

My son has always had a special ability with animals. When he was 9, he rescued 3 baby rabbits who were being chased by a 7-foot bull snake, and raised them to be released back into the wild. Whe he was 11, he rescued a baby prairie dog and they were inseparable for 8 years. When he ended up spending 3 months in a homeless shelter, they had a wild skunk who would come up to the patio/smoking area and take a nap under his chair or curled up on his feet. When she had babies, she would bring her kits up to his chair and have him babysit them while she dug worms and grubs out in the yard. It is because he respects them. He now works with an animal rescue program, and is able to calm the animals down when no one else can get close to them. I have seen wild animals treat him like he is their family.
He is 53, and is one of the kindest men I know. He always wonders what his purpose on earth is, because he has been married 4 times and he has lost all 4 of them in accidents caused by drunk drivers, as well 3 sons and a daughter. Yet when he was being recognized for his work with animals, 17 people came forward and told how if it wasn't for him and his kindness, they would have committed suicide. He may not know his purpose, but i do. It is to save lives. I am so proud of my son, in ways he'll never know.

He actually came to his dad about wanting to go , his dad came to me because I tend to be emotional about my baby!! A little girl he went to school with got so upset when she learned he was leaving that she cried. She said my son was one of the good ones, likes everyone, kind, takes up for others and one day when she didn't have any lunch money he have her his lunch( he gets free lunches but we send one in case there is something he won't eat so he won't go hungry. I'm assuming he got a free lunch that day). We asked him about it and he didn't remember doing it but it's the things that you don't think twice about you tend to forget. Very Proud of him.

Josh you so emotional just joined the chat. I think about my son during songs like this. I can't wait, but then again I can, til he gets a little older and can tell me things like this. God Bless Billy! Keep these vids coming.
My proudest moment so far, my son's 19 months old is when he grabbed a small book of Psalms bible, and although he doesn't understand anything like that now, he flipped through and jabbered and "talked" as he walked around with it. I fully believe God can and does give the ability, especially to kids to understand what He wants for their lives.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14
