Good point about nostalgia... I am recollecting childhood toys, and I like owning them new, like they were when I first purchased them. I guess visiting my collection would be like taking a time machine back to the Five and Dime. New toys I buy, because they look cool or I think they might be investments, and I rarely open them. They have to be EXTREMELY cool for me to actually open. So I just look at them sitting their new in their boxes. They are also the first things to go if I need space. They are more just investments that look cooler than a quarterly stock report from my broker. Makes you wonder if people will be seeking out stuff like Mythic Legions in 30-40 years. I see lots of adults who buy them (many do open and display), but will those adults get rid of them and then want them back before they die? Are 10 year old kids actually buying them and playing with them, and then will really want them back in their 30's-40's? Makes you wonder...
I’m a legions collector and I’ve actually thought of this. I think in that specific instance it will be the legacy of the line and the studio that will draw people in the future to collect. You see it even now in legions groups where people left at some point in the early days, and see new stuff and that the line has added more fantasy elements and they get back in. I think someday mythic legions may be viewed as the most vast and complete high quality fantasy figures ever produced. So people will seek them out. I don’t think it harbors on the nostalgia of kids like GI Joe or Transformers, it’ll be aspiring collectors who see an orc or a knight in the four horsemen style who want in.
@@MedicineBag So you think Mythic Legions may be something like what Magic the Gathering is to cards? A product line that is long lived, with buyers of the new product seeking out old stuff to add that is no longer produced. Like the Power 9 cards. Some collector's of the old Magic cards collect them for nostalgia (it was their high school deck), some just for investment, and other to use with current product to deck build. It's an interesting thought... Fantasy doesn't seem to be a genre that will ever go away, so it might be possible if Four Horsemen can stay in business. Maybe I will catch the bug... I just pre-ordered that green flame Headless Horseman. Nothing else has caught my fancy yet.
oh for sure. I used to work for some resellers back around 2009 and they would teach me some really scummy tactics like "dont act like you like any of the figures people bring in, that way we can lowball them" and some other shady stuff, needless to say I quit a couple months cause it was a dirty business. Ryan comes off really honest when it comes to what a figure costs and what he can offer them.
What Ryan said at the beginning about the nostalgia and having a connection about playing and interacting with the toys is one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard when it comes to collecting

I’ll never forget. Local toys store had a line of marvel legends ICONS. Used to be in this store all the time and the owner one day sees me just staring at the back of the Iron Man box and goes, “you like these huh? Tell you what, I’ll trade you or give you a deal?” Which he did. I go home, open that SOB up and play with him. I go back a few days later and he asks about how it was. I said, “great, been playing with it for hours at home,” mind you I’m like 12. This man looked at me in bewilderment like, “what you mean?” I told him again I’ve been playing with it. He goes, “no no man I thought you were collecting, you sell that later down the line,” with a palm on his forehead. Recently bought the model 20 Iron Man Marvel legends, which looks exactly like that figure. I opened it and couldn’t but laugh at that memory. Now that old iron is worth like 40 bucks 😂😂

Some people are aesthetic. They enjoy the vibe that their displays create in their space. Nothing wrong with that. Save for the fact that it isn't conducive to keeping the hobby alive. However, I suspect that "nostalgia" as a trend is going the way of the dinosaur, anyhow. There really isn't any saving the hobby in the form that it's in.
What an absolute trip watching that Power Rangers Haul come in. After 30 years I still have most of it from my childhood. My Dragon Zord is missing the battery cover, stand, guard and tail tip. The pin that connects the arm to the shoulder sliped out due to thousands of transformations over the years. My Tigerzord is also missing the battery cover and all of the red fireballs (one was supposed to go in his mouth I believe thats why it had 7.) Green ranger has a broken peg on the shield and white may be missing the back half. My Tor is missing the tiny ass pieces like the yellow horn and jewel for the head. Thunder Dragon missing pieces like those and the others zords missing all the little rangers except for Jason. My Megazord up until 2015 was near complete only missing a horn for the triceratops when one day my chrome sword fell into a trash can i had next to the dresser it was standing on. I distinctly remember hearing a noise one night and couldn't figure out what had fallen. I only realized what it was and that it had probably got thrown out two weeks later when I noticed it wasn't holding it's sword. For me there´s like two sides to collecting childhood toys. The one side is having them mint carded /boxed or on the sprues to get that feeling of how toy looked when you saw it on the the store shelf. But then to be able to acually use it now and interact with it and the memories that brings, I try get get one of each unboxed. But sometimes the stuff is just to expensive to buy two of each. Like the two train sets from Airfix I just got. They are mint in box pretty much but both are gonna be put together and used. They are just to cool to stay in the box.

I love this show/channel! I'd love to see some more spotlights on the "selling" side of the store/business. What people are paying and what are they buying...
@toyfederation Yeah, for sure, I guess I'm thinking more like spotlights on customers not doing trades. Just a thought. The show is really great. Ignore me. Lol
@toyfederation I was thinking maybe follow random customers around the store. They would talk about what they're collecting and what they're on the hunt for. How long they've been collecting and the size, where they display it, etc. Then, some interaction with the staff, checking out toys in the shop, pricing, rarity, the toy line, etc. Just a thought...You accomplish all this already, maybe just a little more spotlight on the customers coming in. Thanks for listening to my rant!
In regards to the opener of this flick: I haven't opened the bulk of my figures since I was about 14 or so. I appreciate them as one would an art piece. My interaction with them has largely been as that of a curator making a collection that reflects his personality. I do have plenty open and displayed (especially if they're statues) but the majority is boxed and beautiful. I don't see them as investments (though they've had to serve that purpose during hard times) but as a part of me that connects me to the things I appreciate (be they comics, movies, etc).
I had that Green ranger Dagger/Flute. I felt so powerful as a kid! New follower and started re collecting in 2019... Rough start with covid and waiting on NECA, anything from China.. Toys R us is up here but it;s diff.. Canada.. Love your shop!
I missed the window for Power Rangers by a couple years, (I'm old) but it was really cool to see all the stuff brought in. Great episode, again, keep it up!
These adverts were great back in the day! 😂 These sorts of deals seem tough. Especially a lot of the newer Bandai stuff, and any hasbro non MMPR stuff Will definitely sit for a while! I really hope one day you guys get onto the History channel or something for longer episodes! ✌️☺️
I am from Germany and we had everything in German even the TV series. I had the dragonzord and the daggerflute hearing the sounds brings back memories!
I have a feeling I walked past Bailey at Rangerstop a few times. They seem super chill. If in fact I did walk past them , they also had a sick cosplay.
Very Mature attitude from such a young collector. That was such a smooth trade. those Atlantis the lost empire micro sets are interesting me, had no idea they made the leviathan and the ships. Usually just see the Happy Meal toys.
I have so many toys from my youth. But they were all opened. I've donated some to different charities. Sometimes I wish I would've kept a few sealed lol. But I really enjoyed them as a child.
Another great ep. Already waiting on the next one like a kid waiting for Christmas Day 😂 I didn't have a favourite Ranger cos it just never appealed to me for whatever reason. But I have a lot of respect for its fandom snd for how long the series has endured. What is that Jaws display you have on the counter? Is that still purchasable? (It's like a 3D sculpt of the movie poster...)
Sometimes the thrill of the hunt in finding a collectible toy or whatever it may be is more important than opening it up and playing with it 😐 so I always tell people just collect what you want and collect how you want, it's YOUR hobby not anyone else's👌
I like collecting lost Galaxy and lightspeed figures. And with the lightning collection going away those figures might be a little bit more valuable I think
That hellboy is sick. Hes missing from my collection in any capacity but i try to keep a somewhat relative scale. Of course some characters only get done in one scale ever and thats what your option is. Any good smaller hellboy figures youd recommend?
Well see in my case I love all the vintage stuff ALL OF IT but.....I am a reseller and the other thing I collect these days is money not that I have a lot of it or anything but just collecting things is not where I am at in life. But I have TONS of vintage toys and accessories it takes a lot of time to sort, price, picture and list.

I like the toy federation. I've brought in my collections in and always received good money.
I could watch this daily such a cool show
That hellboy figure was fire 🔥
How did I not know about this place! I live in Anderson-im minutes away 😮 I already see stuff I want. 🎉
you mean an hour away lol. Its in Greer haha. I live in Anderson too its an hour. Its a great shop check it out!!!
I missed the window for Power Rangers by a couple years, (I'm old) but it was really cool to see all the stuff brought in. Great episode, again, keep it up!
Always time to buy them now! Hahah
Like I said before. I'd watch these if they were over an hour long. Another great video gang.
These adverts were great back in the day! 😂 These sorts of deals seem tough. Especially a lot of the newer Bandai stuff, and any hasbro non MMPR stuff Will definitely sit for a while!
I really hope one day you guys get onto the History channel or something for longer episodes! ✌️☺️
Couldn't agree more!
I am from Germany and we had everything in German even the TV series. I had the dragonzord and the daggerflute hearing the sounds brings back memories!
She got a good deal. Nice to see someone in this day and age giving someone good value for money and being fair it's very rare now.
I've seen them lowball the hell out of people and use every trick in the book to do it.
No you haven’t.
@@toyfederation Yes I have. You people will jump through hoops to get that price down as lowwww as possible.
@@johnkallday nah.
@@toyfederation I mean, preying on people is how you become successful doing this so can't really hate the player.
Very impressive collection for a young person. Well done
It was a good lot!
Time for a cup of coffee and my fave Saturday morning show!
Enjoy!
How power rangers managed to go on for so many years just remaking the sa.e episode over and over again is beyond me even with it been a kids show
Remaking? You must be confusing it for something else. It’s adapting the original Sentai series and films that are extremely popular.
@ChesterNuttermy 4 year old daughter just found power rangers and she’s obsessed.. (as a dad I’m secretly happy af)
I have a feeling I walked past Bailey at Rangerstop a few times. They seem super chill.
If in fact I did walk past them , they also had a sick cosplay.
Ahh yes best way to start the weekend💯!
Very Mature attitude from such a young collector. That was such a smooth trade.
those Atlantis the lost empire micro sets are interesting me, had no idea they made the leviathan and the ships. Usually just see the Happy Meal toys.
Quite intrigued by the Atlantis line!
The Battle Builders Spanner vehicle set is a bridge layer reminiscent of gijoe. Seems very clever.@@toyfederation
Any chance you could do a video on the predator figures?
I have so many toys from my youth. But they were all opened. I've donated some to different charities. Sometimes I wish I would've kept a few sealed lol. But I really enjoyed them as a child.
How long does it take to complete a transaction on these big collections?
An hour. Maybe more.
@@toyfederation that's not bad considering amount to go through. It helps when the buyers know what they're doing.
Love the toy federation’s video’s
Another great ep. Already waiting on the next one like a kid waiting for Christmas Day 😂
I didn't have a favourite Ranger cos it just never appealed to me for whatever reason.
Walker is the Best Ranger.
White tiger zord has a red orb in it's mouth. That's #7.
I love this channel
I like collecting lost Galaxy and lightspeed figures. And with the lightning collection going away those figures might be a little bit more valuable I think
How much for titanus
Yall are doing it right 🎉
Thanks!
That hellboy is sick. Hes missing from my collection in any capacity but i try to keep a somewhat relative scale. Of course some characters only get done in one scale ever and thats what your option is. Any good smaller hellboy figures youd recommend?
I love Power Rangers so this episode was made for me! Thanks guys!
Awesome!
Awesome video
Thanks!
what a wild collection, I enjoy MMPR a lot, but never got into collecting the toys. Was a gut punch when Jason David Frank killed himself,
Buy what you love, for the love, whatever it is! Be you!
Good call on the Mignola!
This channel rocks
Thanks!
I LOVE THIS SHOW
