total nostalgia in trinity alabama if you are ever up here. Started as one store and added the two stores next to it! Owner has a youtube page and loves toys and will talk with you about them. Really nice guy and was on the amazon toys near you show.
Full Circle Toys in Newnan, GA is awesome, big store, retro and new production, video games and retro games, comic books etc. Toy Anxiety crew has been there and I’ve been there many times over the years.
When Toys Were Toys is a great little shop. I live about 15 minutes away. I don't get in as much as I'd like, but I've dealt with owner both buying and selling. He's a great guy, and really loves the vintage market. I can't say enough to help support this awesome local business.
POGS getting some love!! Still remember my mom bringing me some back from California and telling me they were really big out there, not a single kid at my school knew what they were or had them!!😂
I love the moment with Spencer and the casette tape. It's so important to teach kids or anyone for that matter, that it's ok to not know things. Whenever I said I didn't know something as a kid, my brothers would mock me, and I'd simply reply: "If I don't know I don't know, you can either laugh, or tell me the answer." They'd stop laughing and just explain things. I'm 40 now and we literally still do this dance to this day.
Ray looks great with his team! I like the mini MUSCLE-like Stone Protectors and the Eco Zombie is now on my list for sure. Original TRON was sweet too. 😮 Thanks Dan👏
Henry Rollins always said... "I get EXCITED about things I don't know! I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW! ISN'T THAT COOL?! ISN'T THAT AWESOME?! I AM NOW LESS IGNORANT!"
Spencer had very "Whatever old man" vibes when you tried to explain the cassette tape to him. 😂 I am glad you included the part about explaining that not knowing isn't anything to be embarrassed about, because in Spencer's defense why should he be embarrassed not knowing a piece of technology that is more or less extinct in this day and age.
Please thank Spence for playing along with the "What is this?" Game. No reason to be embarrassed. When my boys were young, I would tell them, "I'm not laughing because you don't know what it is, I'm laughing because you are proving that (item X) is an antique, just like me". Teaching kids about archaic items is one of my favorite things about being a parent. Thanks for another great hunt!
Dan, i truly appreciate you and the time that you put into your videos! For me, it's like waking up Saturday morning and watching my favorite cartoons back in the day!
Spencer was like, "Dad, I don't understand the appeal of vintage GI Joe toys, I wasn't conditioned to want any of it by years of cartoon commercials" 😂
The aside felt like a moral lesson from He-Man, "In today's episode, Spencer felt embarrassed about not knowing something, but that's okay because..." I don't know if it was intentional, but I liked the vibe.
*sigh* I always get a little depressed when i see the Flagg. My parents got it for me for Christmas, and my older brother helped me put it together and set it up. Then my mom decided it was too big for my room, and i had to pack it away. She ended up selling it at a yard sale a few years later. I never really got to play with it.
So glad you came to my favorite store! I live in AZ now but grew near Peoria and always make a trip here. The owner always gives a deal! Will you be at the Peoria Toy show in July?
Thank you for course correcting with that great teachable moment you had with Spencer. We tend to make fun of kids for not knowing everything, when we ourselves don't know everything.
Another great video Dan! Quick heads up - I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but in the spirit of sharing knowledge - the Ray wasn't complete. Ray's proton pack had an orange stream. The one that you picked up came with Winston's pack who had a yellow stream. However on the plus side, the proton pack you got was a first issue pack because the yellow "hose" came out of the bottom of the cyclotron. Later editions had it coming out of the center of the cyclotron - which always annoyed me even as a kid because it wasn't accurate to the show. Great haul and kudos on your willpower - I don't know if I could have passed up the Trex Dino Rider.
Seeing Spencer not being enthusiastic about the toys, even GI Joe's, made me think that collecting these might come to it's final end. 80s and 90s kids are able to relate on these items, and that's what companies has played with, the "nostalgia" factor of it. But kids nowadays can't relate to them, save a few lines like transformers.
Nice store definitely pick up those Eco warriors ji joe figures so that can be the next line you collect in addition to your ninja force figures. Toy fair magazines are really cool
That Ghostbusters vehicle is called Air Sickness. I've been looking for one, since it was kind of the only Real Ghostbusters toy I had as a kid, Toys R us had them long after the end of the line on clearance. But I appreciate its got multiple ghosts that kind of Transform out of it. Toxo lab definitely neeeds its stickers. Its not as impressive blank. Imagine all the mad science Cobra could get up to with that. Very nostalgic episode. That yellow Mcdonalds monster toy got a nostalgic gasp from me.
I live a block away from there! It is a great store and I have dropped much Mika there. I wish I had known you were stopping by I would have been there to say hi. Keep up the great content.
Love those Rambo toys, I remember watching First Blood part II way too young I was like 6 and saw those and immediately said I don't remember any ninjas in Rambo.
Spencer shouldn't be embarrassed he's a kid he's supposed to ask questions, no one is born knowing everything and no one will ever know everything. I mean I'm 27 and there's people my age that don't know cassettes or VHS and both formats were still around when we were kids, I still remember the day I went into Blockbuster and they didn't rent out VHS tapes anymore and I couldn't rent the Transformers 86 movie anymore lol.
There is an older one here in Peoria as well called Acme Comics. Be kind of rad if you check that one out, and maybe let a local nostalgia podcaster buy you a beer 🤣🍻🤘
Mother wouldn't get me Battle Cat as a child, ended up with that lizard thing because seat was the same. Never knew where it came from. Now I know where I am going tomorrow.
I think, just my opinion, collecting is a really nice hobby overall. But I also think that the hobby has been overly saturated with products, especially during and post covid period. There's so much to collect, multiple companies making the same line, that it's getting tiresome. As it is, collect what you like, and not for the future value it may hold. Because collectors will always have an abundant options to choose from.
I'm glad that you didn't get the Dino Riders T-rex. You should hold out for a better one. Besides the missing turret, the other turret is on backwards, and the shielding underneath is either broken or not assembled correctly. I'm glad I still have my complete childhood one in my collection so I dont have to pay the crazy prices today.
Dan, have you ever done a video about your wife? you shop with her, you let her hunt herself, but how did you land the perfect queen? who won in the end, you or her?
It's "Tank" from "Captain Power" by Mattel, 1987, although the figures are stamped 1986. It's Lieutenant Michael "Tank" Ellis. Tan colored with green camo spots. The big gun pegs onto his hip and he fires it underhanded. He's missing his flip-up visor. The show was live-action, he's in it.
Had no idea Long John Silvers had a Stone Protector giveaway or that they were around in the 90's(didn't get LJS's around me until the early 2000's). Must have been to counter Roy Roger's Treasure Troll promo in 93'. Buy a soda get a troll, dad bought two for my sister and me, aaaaaand we ended up with the same yellow haired yellow diamond troll. Think I would have much rather of had a Stone Protector as a kid then the troll.
I was getting a gift for birthday and i had /o choose between Dino Riders T rex or the Diplodocus. This was a hard chouce. The thought going through my head was both had walking action and the Trex didnt walk all that great haveing to rely on its tail for a dragged 3rd leg. Plus i had more Rulons then valorians. So chose Diplodocus. Out of all the electric walking action Dino Riders. The Rulon triceratops was the best over all it walked the best and was cool. The 3 biggest Dinos . The gear had si many pieces and the harness would fall off alot. But the triceratops stayed together.
I saw that green football game I bought one at a flea market for $5 and it works and a guy just bought the baseball one right before I got to that table and just subscribed to your channel.
Tell him that is just a product of your age. There is lots of old stuff I don't know what it is. I have to find an older person to tell me. Plus he makes us old farts feel smart when we can tell him.
Man I do remember them Rambo figures from force of freedom me and one of my friends had them as kids my friend head Rambo with the white shirt on and the colonel I had Rambo like he's from Rambo 2
Kills me every time I see _Police Academy_ stuff in a video. Just because they're pretty hard to find out my way. My 9yo nephew, on holiday from Sweden, was a bit confused by all the 80s tech in my house, lol. Stereo, dial phone, Beta video player and so on...
When watching these videos....im always trying to decipher your code words. Does That's Awesome mean...... overpriced? Stina, canni get it? Tempting? Which is it? 😆🤣😂
I don't think you really expected Spencer to know what the cassette tape was. You were just showing him old technology he has never seen before to see what his reaction was, maybe for shock value. We know you weren't trying to embarrass him. Kids never react the way they think they might when we show them our old stuff.
I spy Big Bad Beetleborgs AKA Juukou B-Fighter & B-Fighter Kabuto which is the original series from Japan and it's a lot better than Saban's version and yes I know I'm going to get a lot of hatred but Saban did put several other Tokusatsu characters in Power Rangers Forever Red movie
Makes me laugh that Dan gets excited about every toy line apart from Transformers, which probably has one of the largest collector fan bases in the world. What happened? Did his school bully play with transformers or his uncle Billy was tragically killed by a falling transformers display?
I’m deeply disappointed 😉 - how could a MOTU-Fan like you not listen to He-Man cassette tapes with your son??? 🤷♂️ No, actually I wonder if He-Man tapes were actually a thing in the US. In Germany, they were really popular…
@@joeblogs-vx4ep I only recently discovered the “Ladybug” He-Man & She-Ra books from the UK. Fortunately some of them have been translated into German, so I can read them to my 5-year-old son. They’re great, too!

Come back to ohio so u can sign my book lolz

I think Spencer would be more impressed with the USS Flag if it were less cluttered and could actually see it under everything stacked on it.
The Tmnt box art deserves an artbook.

As well as shapes ect

Hopefully you bought that Wuzzles tape so you could play it for Spencer and Ryder!
Dang that's a nice set of Silverhawks toys
Would it be possible for mattel to double dip on their jurassic park dinos and release armor sets and small figures to turn them into dino riders?
