Don't trouble your self because of the dust, the truck is a beauty. That red one is so gorgeous with those black cherry fenders. Tires look great. The only thing I feel is a bit disturbing, is that black fenders make the whole thing to give the sensation of a bit out of proportion between hood and fenders, making fenders to look small and tiny in regard the hood as if there were no fenders at all! Anyway, "Pete" is my favorite truck in the whole world. Beautiful American big rig.
Love the three axles, I did rgn for 26 years, all my trucks were petes 5 352 and one 379, prefer steerable axles, JW you are putting together great trucks, I won't be buying one I'm 76 years old and off the road, like what you are doing, pull toy here.
All 3 look great, that Pepper and Black one looks great. I'd rate the trucks in reverse order as how I'd rate them. Pepper/black then the 2nd one than the 1st truck.
What is the weight on that setup. We run daycab but I would love the sleeper for legroom and occasional overnights if it doesn’t add much to the weight of the tractor
Have a question for ya. Are you located in Springs or Greeley? I have seen one video where I know for sure you are in springs but multiple others you're along the interstate and the only rush dealer in springs I know about is not along the interstate. Thanks and appreciate the vids..
I office out of CSP but travel to other locations frequently. Mainly because I don't carry the inventory on hand locally yet in Southern Colorado. I sell out of the full Rush inventory (mostly Colorado). My territory has no boundaries and I want to have the most diverse content on my channel as possible. I worked in the oil fields of Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming as well as upfitting Vocational trucks before coming to Colorado Springs area. I was born and raised in Northern Colorado so it is nice to go up there when I can. You are very wise in your observations. Give me a call sometime and let's chat about you and where you are from. Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas my friend!
@@LargeCarjw Thanks for the quick response and information. I currently live in Pueblo but was born in NY and grew up on Long Island. Looking to get back into driving the beginning of next year after being out of it for about 6.5 years. I will definitely give you a call to see what my options will be getting into a truck. Thanks again and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I dont get the attraction to a steerable lift axle, they cost more to purchase, more moving parts to maintain and break and when its all said and done you dont get anymore weight, actually you get less due to the heavier weight and the fact they are rated for less
It's a 20,000 pound axel that weighs about 3,00 pounds which allows you to carry 17,000 pounds more. The advantage of the steerable is that you don't have to lift it to corner it.
Frank, the SLP on a 20k Steerable is about $13,320 more. Here's the catch.... Neither Watson Chalin nor Hendrickson offer a 23k Steerable axle currently. What's your preference?

Is air ride a option for a heavy spec front axle or is it only available for the 12 and 14 thousand pound front axles?
