My Ford GT on the Nurburgring for the FIRST TIME!

- It's time for my Ford GT to have its first laps around the Nurburgring Nordschleife! The opportunity to drive the Ring with the GT was nearly missed thanks to some surprise snowfall but thankfully it dried up and that meant a chance to experience the ferocious levels of performance available in the new Shmeemobile.
The Ford GT is by far my most special, most expensive, rarest and also the fastest car that I've driven on the Green Hell, as well as being my first laps of this season; so playing it safe and sensible is the name of the game. However, kicking off from the car park outside the Touristenfahrten entrance let's get things rolling and go straight out onto the Nordschleife to experience what it's like.
For the purposes of some photos I've dropped it down into Track Mode which hugely firms up the suspension and in the case of the Nurburgring with it's bumpy tarmac, I'd say it's too much and would be better suited to Sport - but I shall try that next outing. In any case as an experience to drive, the GT is so unbelievably focused and hardcore that the drama could not be more extreme. Sharing just about everything with the WEC racecar, the GT is much more suited to a smoother surface like those found at Silverstone, Spa and the like and that will come in time to experience.
For now, a very memorable moment, experiencing the Ford GT on the Nurburgring, using it as it was built to be used!

What a drive! I've now put in my first few laps with the Ford GT on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and what an experience it was. Come along for the ride with me to see what it's like taking a car like this out for a couple of laps of the Green Hell.
Tim, you are the best! Loving the new content with your cars watching it is so entertaining and enjoyable. You bet! I don't buy a car unless it's going to get used. It's been a process to get the new cars properly run in but now they are ready it's time for the fun to begin
Its the third Ford GT that I know of to do that an one was even a really special one with a disabled driver.

Its soooooo nice. I didnt have high hopes because in the renders it looked like a mcdonalds spec but glad to see it turned out so good.

The way the content on this channel has just stepped up a gear recently is insane! Who else on all of youtube (possibly the world) is taking their ford gt and McLaren senna to an event one day, taking both cars to over 300kph and then taking the gt to the Nürburgring all within a few days. Mega respect

It's both, upper left number is in miles, lower right is in kilometers
On video it always looks slower then you are doing for real, is my experience. Also depending what kind of camera stand you use (where the camera is located). Great video btw of a great car on a even greater track !

For everyone out here saying that he is going slow and should time his lap, try the Ring for yourself first before commenting. First of all timing isnt allowed during Touristenfahrten and second of all he is driving a limited number car that is worth loads. If you keep in mind the value of the car I can say he is pushing the car quite well. Speed top left of the dash is in mph, bottom right in kmh.

I’m glad you mentioned this in the video you posted today. I do love the ring, and to see the Ford GT these is a dream. I found it interesting that the marshal who sees so many cars noted yours as something special...even if he didn’t like the colour. 👍👍

I loved watching this! I can’t wait til ours is broken in so I can really test it. The surprising thing about these cars is just how easy they are to drive.
I could tell you were pushing it, but it didn’t feel like the car was not under perfect control!

You may not drive the Car to it´s fullest BUT you drive it hard, you drive it on track, you drive this car where and how it is meant to be driven, maybe not to it´s fullest potential but to a levell that you feel comfortable with.
I respect that, I respect that a hell of alot, especially in an Age of Garagequeens and still packed up super- and Hypercars that just sit around undriven.
And maybe at some point I get to see these cars IRL, wich you make possible by driving them around and showing them at events and such.
