You saved me. My Maxxis was shooting good through paper but I knew it was wrong cause the center shot was way out. I had seen a video where Wayne set up a bow for Born and Raised and he talked a little about yoke tuning. So I did a search. 2.5 turns for the left tare and I had it right back where it needed to be.THX! Love the channel.
AFTER I HAD CHANGED MY BUS CABLE AND CONTROL CABLE, WHEN I WOULD COME TO FULL DRAW, I COULD HEAR A SOFT NOISE AT THE TOP CABLE OF MY BOW. AFTER HEARING YOUR EXPLANATION ABOUT THE CAM LEANING TOO MUCH TO ONE SIDE, THE CABLE WAS SLIDING OFF THE CAM STOP SINCE I HAD TOO MUCH OF A LEAN IN MY TOP CAM. THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION AND NOW I HAVE IT BACK WHERE IT BELONGS. YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF!!!!
If you have a single cam bow with an idler wheel on top, shouldn’t the wheel have a tiny amount of lean at rest and then straighten out at full draw? Should twists be put in the cable when installing a new string set on in order to achieve the lean? (i.e. Mathews solo cam).
Hi friend! Very informative and easy to understand video. Im Brazilian, dont speak english well and could understand a lot of it. I always wanted to know what we should do first when fixing left/right tear issues. So, first, we set the yokes (max 3 turns), 2nd the rest launcher, right? When the sight comes into play?
For your next video, can you confirm or deny that putting a 3 sided broadhead in line with 3 fletchings will make the arrow fly straighter and be more in tune?
It doesn't make it fly more straight, but if you align them all like that then you know at least they're all catching wind the same way coming out of the bow and theyll be more consistent arrow to arrow. Good beoadhead fligjt has much more to do with the tune of your bow than the brand of broadhead or alignment of said broadhead.
Hey brother I know this is an old video but I’m shooting a Pse levitate and everything was fine. All the sudden I started getting a massive right tear. I’ve moved yokes I’ve moved cams rest is centered. Idk what to do
Just getting started with this sport and your videos are awesome man. Wish your shop was closer. You know of any good shops in FL/GA area by any chance?
I have a similar bow that function the same way with intentionally top cam lean from the factory, paper tuning was a pain for me specially that Im new to compound bows, okay now I made it shoot a bullet hole from like 3 to 4 feet far from the paper and when I started to install and adjust the sight, I noticed that the sight pins need to be far away from my peep to the point the sight pins already hiding behind the bow itself and unable to see to make the bow shoot the arrow straight as it was when I paper tuned the bow, This bow can actually achieve a bullet hole tuning without causing problems when it come to adjusting the sight after? what did I do wrong? Thank you. P/s I'm a left hand shooter and the arrow rest went so far to the right in order to achieve the bullet hole tuning.
Getting a 1/2" rt tear on a 2019 PSE Carbon stealth. Tried moving the rest (Hamskea microtune). It just goes from a rt tear to a lft tear. Moved it back to the 1/2" rt tear. Should I yoke tune, leaving the arrow rest waaay left? Or should I swap the shims?
If I corrected my left/right tear completely with this method but am slightly knock high on paper with a bareshaft at 6 feet, should I now adjust the rest vertically to fix that nock-high tear?
Love your videos hope you will someday be greater than Wayne:)please if any advice for me what to do,I have persistent nock low tear while bare shaft shooting, its about 5mm lower from the bullet hole when fletched arrows used.No left or right at all.My cams are timed so that top one is I would say over rotating a little bit (both are making a contact to cables but top one is creating slight pressure on control cable). If I put that back to just touching-slower it down by 1 twist added to CC, its getting worse. What should I do please, it will kill me:)Is it ok to untwist half a turn of the bottom limb bolt to make it a little slower that top? thanks a lot
@@InsideOutPrecision already tried this,no response at all,I think my bottom cam is faster than top one and pushing the arrow up regardless that I do to the rest, but funny thing is that, since top one is overrotating slightly,it should not be the case...I am blocked there:-(
Hey dude, I’m shoot 62 pounds 27 inch 400 spine Easton Axis match grade 430 grain arrow my broadheads fly just like my fp’s I used to shoot 52 pounds 27 inches 500 spine 367 grains. My broadheads would fly all over the place. Why do they fly so well now?
Is the yoke cable supposed to be like crooked like that? Like one side closer to the cam than the other? My bow just got fixed and it looks like that and didn’t know if it was normal
Hi mate, in terms of different tuning methods do you have a preference? I figure the deadlock is about number 1 but any difference in outcome or ease with yokes vs shims and top hats?

I can't thank you enough. I did exactly what you said. Boom! Bullet hole first shot. Rest is still centered. Beautiful!!

Best video on yoke tuning that I’ve seen so far. Thanks!

I'm wondering this also. I have a constant tear left with different spines, FP weights, and even adjusting the rest.
Videos are great man. Keep em coming.

I think he did this on a video called "Broadhead indexing" or something like that. 👍

Unfortunately I don't! Glad you're getting something from the videos though!
Isn't it best to check cam lean when at full draw?
Maybe a stupid question, is it rightly tightly and lefty loosely, on the twists?

Where is the shop you film your video's at. I thought at one time you mentioned Kentucky?
No we're in Springfield, OR
Did you ever chrono the Hoyt Torrex if so what did you record

Because your bow was not properly in tune before. Sounds like it is tuned now.
Is the yoke cable supposed to be like crooked like that? Like one side closer to the cam than the other? My bow just got fixed and it looks like that and didn’t know if it was normal
Yeah that’s normal
Cool man thanks. Looked all sorts of cockeyed and didn’t know if it was normal
Yes I like tuning videos but I can’t get my Prime Black tuned and the dealer is 151 miles away, but It’s shooting good ✌🏻👍🇺🇸
You need the shim kit.
I'm guessing its shooting about 1.5" tail right through paper?
Hi mate, in terms of different tuning methods do you have a preference? I figure the deadlock is about number 1 but any difference in outcome or ease with yokes vs shims and top hats?
Yokes and top hats are both very easy and effective. Swimming works well too, but can be a pain in the ass depending on tmbramd of bow.
Would a PSE be the same yoke tune?
This concept applies to any bow with split yokes on the outside of the limb.
i have a Prime logic CT 9 . What about that ?
Shim kit and mover cams or adjust cable guard.
@@jeffkuznetsov1519 i'm sorry Jeff, i don't understand that.
They make different size spacers that go on either side of the cam between the limb and cam.
Are you doing videos as soon as you get up? You look so tired in this one. Good job on explaining yoke tuning.
Haha yeah this one was before work. Usually I do them in the evening though
after 5 seconds of the video i came here for an explanation on why he looks/sounds like he is dying
