there is a button on the mixer on channel 15/16, wich says USB or Line-in. If you put it to USB and download the Yamaha Steinberg Driver for mac from this page, should be the top alternative: www.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads_hardware/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver.html, it shold work.
Preamps boost a weak signal coming into the mixer so that signal can be used by the mixer. So, it makes sense that each input channel would have its own preamp circuit. Having one single preamp circuit for every channel would be foolish considering that a faulty preamp would render every channel useless in that situation.

Im sorry i never updated you. Made in Malaysia, it is also original, before it was released in Indonesia, but now the factory has been moved to Malaysia and it is released there.
Never destroy the box until equipment been checked! Or even fold it and save.

ok how do you run a talkback mic with tis mixer?
This mixer dose not have an dedicated Talkback input, so you will have to use one of the channels as an Talkback channel

Sorry for very late reply havent been on here in a while. No the USB interface only outputs a stereo mix of the whole console
