This is my detailed review of the AL-KO Safety Premium hitch lock, the heaviest and strongest of the AL-KO hitchlock range and, at the time of publishing this video, the only AL-KO lock that has the Sold Secure rating.

We bought one of these hitch locks when we bought our caravan, I did look at quite a few locks but went for this particular model because it was more robust than the others, yes expensive but we have piece of mind, if I am not mistaken it’s the emergency services that don’t like you towing with the hitch lock on, just in case they need to separate the car and caravan quickly, thanks for your video 👍.

Our storage yard has recently had two caravans stolen, both had the old style hitch lock which was simply prised off and removed still locked.

I'm sorry to hear that. There's no guarantee that this lock will prevent the van being stolen, but I can't imagine it being prised off. It would have to be picked or an angle grinder.
