If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex

Can you bill yearly on skool communities?
I believe rap is a great tool for marketing. I am a songwriter who can write about any subject in less than one week.
Ur titles r catchy but content gets no one nowhere!! If it worked, one would be enough. Plus it's not clear in the video what u r babbling about. Can't u just give a straight short answer to what works. U r born to talk
How am I supposed to make more profit when I'm spending 99% of my time watching these bangers every day
I’m dead 😂 they have been hitting though
Really hitting...at some point, I felt like I'm the only one enjoying the way Alex contents are more in tune with the problems I'm facing in my business
true 💯
@@Adebowale-ix1wwevery day it’s exactly what I need
😂 true!!!
This is a Certified Hood Classic.
Hahahaha hell yea
pure pure evil. Your metric should be how happy are your customers, not how much money you make from them.
@@Aedonius Tell that to da bank
@@Aedonius tell that to the gas and electric company when yours bills due. And don't forget to tell the grocery store too.
Right up there with Menace 2 Society and Boyz N The Hood.
I don’t even have a business and I raised my prices and bill annually now!
😂😂😂
💀😂
😂
Awesome 🎉
This is the exact type of content I started watching you, and I'm very happy that you returned to these unedited, whiteboard education videos. Plus I love math :) To give context, I'm an entrepreneur in Hungary who does online and offline courses in photography.
I really appreciate what you're doing Alex thanks! One thing though, I would really appreciate you guys changing your titles policy since now all your videos have almost the exact same title and it's difficult to go and find a specific video from the channel to revisit its ideas.
Real business owners don't need click baity titles I assume
PIN THIS!!!
such a good point, an annoyance i've experienced so many times for sure
The titles are to bring in new people but it does slow me down from clicking certain videos because I feel like I watched already
If anything, real business owners understand click bait titles and thumbnails are more important than anything
Same. you would think he doesn't need to pander to the algorithm, but alas all channels do.
One of my fave Alex videos!
I actually did this by accident. I run an offer that is essentially a self hosted Patreon.
Instead of charging seven dollars per month and getting hit with a credit card charge every month I bill it as $57 yearly, no other options.
It’s done freakishly well, and I was boggling over the reasons.
This video spoke to the heart of that.
As a side note, when you bill yearly a lot of people simply forget about the renewal so all of a sudden you are doubling the LTV for someone who might have only intended to stay for a year.
Did u try charging per month or just started charging yearly from start
mindblowing value. I feel like it'll go over most people's head but he's really giving the keys to the kingdom here. No fluffy business motivation talk, just straight cold pricing strategy
19:46 Extended look back window not only leading to client retention, but that is extended time and increased likelihood for those clients to create referrals for you. 👌 Love the math behind this!
Yo Alex! Since you mentioned that knowing the "7 equations that will make money" is so important, I think it would be helpful if you also created exam-style case studies with test preps. This would help those of us who are just starting out. Would also be helpful if there are different case studies that highlight the nuances of the equations.
Love this serious business content, but gotta say, "Not so fast, Fast Fred" absolutely killed me 🤣🤣🤣
Watched Alex since 2021. Glad I did ❤ changed my business forever
This format is great!
But I do miss chapters on your videos!
Do it yourself ;)
Amazing content from Alex. I love the switch over to this more focused business content.
Awesome video :)
You too!
I cannot believe your videos are free, so much value!! Thank you. Do you know the dates for the next Vegas workshop?
From $37K to $45K that's the minimum range of profit return every week I thinks it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.
Please where and how did you earn that much
I would really love to know how much work you did put in to get to this stage.
All thanks to FLORA WOOD
*Flora Wood is also a verified member on Te Le Gram.*
Yes!!! That's exactly her name (Flora Wood) I've seen so many people talking about her....and am just starting with her from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
"Not so fast their, fast Fred" first time Alex ever made me laugh out loud. Watched at least 30 hours of content.
Liked before watched
Same here 😂 first 5 sec like
Same here!
Alex with massive KLT Know Like Trust.
I know right
I love economics bro. Its what I'm studying online also. It helps breaks down everything, which helping. E personally to my online im scaling at the moment.
this is straight up pure value! I love these whiteboard sessions and long form videos
Just always amazing value.. I'm building my first business based on these information.. I presented my idea to my CEO of my 9-5 job and he thinks that my plan makes sense (so I validate myself and think that I'm not crazy) and also that what I've learned from Alex's videos and books are actually the truth of how business works and not some BS youtube 1 day millionaire stuff. Thanks again Alex! It's gonna be a long journey...
8:25 this is the REAL VALUE my bro Alex and Lelia drop 🔥🔥🔥 helping me build a coaching business to help others get out of the hood.
I love these videos. I do wish they were slightly more applicable to a primarily consumable style of business compared to a one time expense style of business. The best example I can think of would be coffee, there are ways to push the one time expense on reusable cups which is what Starbucks leads coffee industries in. Yet, I can't really think of another way other than a coffee membership or something that is a one time expense leading into smaller monthly charges that provides a scannable card with a specific ID to give discounts. What i'm saying is, I wish he would talk more about the different styles of the consumer businesses.
Great content, Alex. But why are these pricing options not available with Skool? There is currently only the option for monthly.
This is the question I have as well. Especially if monthly billing is correlated with higher churn
Exactly... this is a major flaw in Skool. Some people only want to make a one time purchase and Skool loses potential customers. I've been begging them to change this.
Now this is the video
- I watch 3 times
- I send to my friends
Congrats and thank you
This is amazing thank you Alex!! I love all of your videos
Bro. I noticed your flipping your representation pages...THERE'S A TECHNOLOGY BOARD THAT ALLOWS YOU TO WRITE AND ERASE AND CHANGE MARKER COLOR ECT. YOU WON'T HAVE TO FLIP PAGES. ITS SOOOOO COOL. IT LOOKS LIKE (CHARK BOARD) BLACK BOARD. YOU WRITE ON IT, IT ERSASE WITH BUTTONS, GO ONLINE ON IT DURING PRESENTATION ECT. IIIII LLLLOOOOOVVVVEEEEE YYYYOOOOOUUUUU MOZI❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is 100 times better than most guru's paid content. lol
I would make the churn calculations a bit different. I would do a cohort analysis, because churn often isn't linear which could influence your calculations when you're combining all churn in 1 linear bucket.
I love that your videos make my head hurt sometimes. It makes it clear what many of my skill and info gaps are that I need to close lead me to greater success. I've got sooo much to learn still.
So freaking good! LBW needs to be a standard industry wide term and concept!
It’s great to know that I was already doing this. Now I know I’m on the right path
Extremely insightful!!!
Love this!! Really clever and so much value!!
I think people canceling gym memberships is a very true statement with the exception of planet fitness and crunch. They’re $10 bucks a month and people
Literally barely go and also say “meh it’s only $10 bucks”
Can you make a video on how to get the sweet spot for pricing products for some of us who sell consumable products and are in a brick and mortar businesses?
His content game is insane
This is just mind blowing and im definitely going to get your book. Thank you for this 🙏
This is why I don't like the subscription model. Too many companies are requiring a subscription service when it should be a one-time cost upfront.
he needs to make a book that includes stuff like that, scaling stuff
This kind of content 🔥🔥🔥🔥 more please
Love it. Super much value
Thank you Alex! 🙏🏼
Alex's thumbnails are increasingly staring into my soul
This content is so good!
Learned a lot. Thanks.
Thank you for walking through these concepts.
He doesn’t stop. If people don’t take advantage of Alex they’re missing out. This is like better than college lmfao (didn’t go)
These business maths videos are my favourite!
OMG, this is insane!!!! Love you dude
When is Skool introducing quarterly/annual payments for communities then 👀
dude i love these videos
I have a billing system really close to this almost exactly. But I find people on the reoccurring monthly or quarterly have a lower turnover rate. How many resale a huge amount is a challenge versus there used to paying a smaller amount that's for my experience. I'm not a gym though.
Love the new “old” videos
Aren’t the people signing up for annual billing generally harder sales meaning each sale you close is a better customer inherently?
I know the exact business hes talking about in the example its a community from skool im currently in their program and its very educating they use these exacta tactis to a t and seeing this i can imagine how much money they make
Yes, more math please
if everyone went to the good boat the previously bad boat would become good because there would be less competitors
I love it. 🎉
Thanks 🙏 this is greatly appreciated
Value, as always 🔥
Thank you Lord Jesus for the gift of life and blessings to me and My family $14,120.47 weekly profit our lord Jesus have lifted up my Life!!!

in United Kingdom.
Yeah, 253k from Harrick maureen, looking

Started with 5,000$ and Withdrew profits
89,000$
So what you are saying, first you sell them on the product and then on the affiliate offers for recurring services
when will price options like this be available on skool
Can you tell me how to stop 4 police officers 1 nurse from coming to your home for no reason your relaxing and get a knock on the door this is messed up..
Alex you’re incredible
There will be a time and I believe it will be soon that people will be tired of paying for a little bits every month for everything they own. There will be pushback in at some point people will just stop doing this subscription model because they’re tired of death by 1000 cuts.
You will be successful soon
Really successful
12k upfront!

When the video began, i was like, isn't that book located in a precarious position?
How to improve profit for a Laundromat
If you take the time to watch this make sure you actually do something (action) afterwards
So dense. Thank you
Best video yet
And now, I will destroy the MBA degree industry
9:48 I would be concerned with how to enforce payment after 1 year without charging them.
Thank you Alex.
Hey Alex, would it be possible to live stream on TH-cam, for the people who don’t use Instagram haha? That would be greatly appreciated ❤
PS love your book, even if I’m only 20 pages in!
Value x 1 million Alex
My brain is now thinking about timing value add right before the bill arrives
I'm buying AMS27T and BRETT both picked up the last 24 hours.
Set the TH-cam and Instagram camera right next to each other, one less thing to look towards.
Every time I open youtube I see AH 😂 he’s faster than Max Verstappen 😂😂 im here for it it
Went to college and never learnt this in depth about pricing. How the fuck
the karl marx of hustle bro gurus
He's back
Business owners are also customers of many products and services. It blows my mind that people don't optimize their businesses to treat customers like they would want to be treated themselves.
Like the worst waitress complaining about poor services at a restaurant when the roles are reversed.
Alex looking sickly
Yeah Good Stuff !
Just Win ! ❤
Idk how the offers book didn’t fall sooner lol
Dang, you used to teach the opposite. To take out weekly instead of monthly.
With all the videos this is like 500000% more profit. So still 0 for me.
eye roll alex haha... still the man
Not so fast there...fast fred😂
Greaaat video❤
