Fun fact, I made this recipe using a bullet style blender. The hot chicken and the baking powder turned it into a pipe bomb. When I opened the lid, an extremely loud blast went off. The lid hit the sealing, my face was covered in hot chicken sludge, and so was every cabinet in my kitchen. My wife laughed at me, and I did NOT cry.
We used to laugh at vegans for trying to make veggies into meat substitutes. Now they're laughing at us for using meat to make veggie and bread subs 😂😅
I made an easier version: 1/4 cup egg white powder and 2 T olive oil instead of the eggs, uncooked ground chicken, and I added 1/4 cup of lupini flour (although a legume, lupini are amazing in that they are high protein and fiber, only 1 net carb per 1/4 cup of flour), a tsp of psyllium, and 1/4 tsp yeast for flavor. I made 4 bagels in a doughnut pan. Because of a major reaction to wheat, I never thought I'd ever be able to enjoy the texture of bagels again, but here we are! They came out perfect. Dense, but springy, the perfect bite. Not wet at all. I can't believe it!!! Thank you so much for inspiring me. Bagels are such comfort food, and now I can have that comfort again.
I have seen carnivores put ground meat breads in the air fryer/ toaster to dry the texture out a bit!! Great recipe and thanks for sharing!!! (I miss bagels, cream cheese and locks add capers and sliced purple onion ! 1 year carnivore and a big fan!
I just made these because I was so intrigued ! They came out excellent ! I used a large muffin top pan and they came out like actual hamburger buns. ( only thinner ) I used it for a burger and it held together perfectly. Color me AMAZED :)
Ok , I made the bagels and my husband said they tasted like turkey stuffing 😂! They kinda did. 😆. Did yours have the flavor? The bagels are good. I’ll make turkey sandwiches with it. Maybe add some keto cranberry too! 😅❤ I appreciate your hard work and fun channel.
I'm thinking the saltiness comes from the parmesan. I will put garlic powder, onion powder & Italian seasoning in the dough. Definately spray the pan with avocado oil then shake everthing seasoning mix into the bottom of the pan before using a disposable pastry bag to fill the wells. No tip needed just cut the bag. Do you think this would work as a burger bun? I'm desperate... More than anything I want a hoagie roll for so many things... Philly cheese steak for sure! Great idea - thanks for posting
Nice! Thanks for the inspiration! I eat mostly carnivore with fermented vegetables as condiments. It's lovely to see something to mix it up, and have some variety.
the only difference is that she adds some beef gelatin that might make it more "chewy" and nutritional yeast in place of the parm cheese or a 1/2 in 1/2
I'm not a fan of almond flour so this is something I think I will like! The Parmesan is adding to the salty taste so I'm going to try the recipe without the salt. Wonder if you could do it with grated Asiago? I will probably grate the Parm myself. Don't like the canned stuff. Thanks for the recipe!
I don't really miss bagels, but that batter looks useful for all kinds of things. Shepherds pie, savory breakfast muffins (add mix-ins like ham, broccoli, spinach). Using the air fryer instead of oven would help dry it out. Wonder how thinly it could be poured? I really miss the massa dish at Mexican restaurants, this could potentially be the bready base replacement to make at home!
Tip for filling donut mounds easily. Fill a zip lock bag with the batter, cut off a corner of the page and pipe into the doughnut pan. It's almost fun.
Two comments; first Everything but the Bagel seasoning seems to be extremely salty to me so personally I would put very little on and maybe use garlic and/or onion. Next, what do you think of using ground pork? I seem to have a lot of it in my freezer and thought I'd try it. Love your channel!
If I remember correctly, didnt you make a loaf of bread out of meat once? I tried that recipe, and it was actually really good, so I know this probably will be as well.
It was a very long time ago, these were surprisingly good, we toasted the left overs and they tasted even better, I think loading them with toppings gives them the best “bagel” feeling
I really love your videos, you are scientists at heart. That is a mousslinne technique. Used to make pike dumplings and a few other obscure French dishes. It is usually poached, but I love the idea and the texture.
This looks really interesting. Thanks for trying it! Maybe it tastes too salty because of the parm. I'd definitely cut the salt, especially since you put Everything Bagel seasoning on it. I can't wait to try it!
Try Royo bagels. They range anywhere from 5g to maybe 7g net carbs per bagel depending on the flavor you choose and you'll at least feel like you're eating an actual bread bagel because you will be. Lol
Ladies!! I have a new recipe that I would love to see you guys make. It does involve cottage cheese, I am so sorry.. But I've been seeing cottage cheese cinnamon roll cake pops. Please make this happen ❤❤❤❤❤
Being from NY where there are bagel stores everywhere, I can’t wrap my head around a meat bagel that doesn’t taste anything like a real bagel. @@ketotwins I get that part but the only thing that makes it a bagel is the shape. For that matter, it could be called a donut. If it doesn’t taste like a real bagel, why bother? That’s why I can’t be a true carnivore because it’s too restrictive for me. Don’t pay any mind to my opinion. I love you ladies and appreciate all the work and recipes you share.

Who would have ever thought. Definitely worth a try but my favorite bagel is cinnamon raisin 😊

I purchased an Everything Bagel salt-free and mixed it half and half with Everything Bagle to make it less salty.
We will have to find that! I like salt but this was verrrry salty lol
@@ketotwins I purchased it on Amazon.
How do you make it less garlicky? Gross.
@@marciabutler987 don't use it. Season the bagels with the seasonings you prefer.

Jalapeno Cheddar bagels are the absolute best and I totally miss them.

If you put the mixture into a plastic bag and cut a corner off it makes it easier to fill the donut tray 😊

Maria Emmerich has a Carnivore Bagel Recipe that is similar - you should look into that
the only difference is that she adds some beef gelatin that might make it more "chewy" and nutritional yeast in place of the parm cheese or a 1/2 in 1/2
Beef gelatin is great in ice cream too.

I think any cheese would work great :)
I have made carnivore bread with ground chicken. I have to say it was unusual. Not quite bread, not quite meat.
Using chicken and then making it into a bbq or alfredo chicken bacon pizza would be yum.

I see all these great ideas for the different breads... and I think they are basically chaffles using meat instead of a "flour" almond coco meat etc
My favorite "Chaffle" is actually made with just bacon and eggs and I believe I got that recipe from the Keto Twins. ;)

I wish they had shown how to cook the ground turkey--Did they add oil to the pan, and salt or other ingredients?
