- Mbeya is a city located in southwest Tanzania, Africa. Mbeya's population was 2,080,000 in 2012. Mbeya is the capital of the surrounding rural Mbeya region
Mbeya is the first large urban settlement you will see when travelling overland from the neighbouring nation of Zambia. Mbeya is situated at an altitude of 1,700 metres (5,500 ft), and sprawls through a narrow highland valley surrounded by a bowl of high mountains. The main language is colloquial Swahili, and the English language is extensively taught in schools.
at the start of this video the weather was fine but as i continued recording the rain started pouring hard and it was the best experience ,rainy day at its best

ohh yeah, i studied here at MTC Mbeya Technical College located at iyunga, the highway toward to tunduma, in (1993 to 1996 intake) since that time i left mbeya up to now june 2024 im now living in the USA, i really missed this placed....

My favorite is Arusha. I have a Tanzanian girlfriend we met in dar es salaam but she's from mbeya. I want to make a surprise visit at their home in mbeya and that's why I'm here.
Safwa are unknown and very little nyakyusa are very famous trible and they are so many that's is why everyone knows that nyakyusa are the native in mbeya city
My son is now living in Mbeya and once this pandemic is over we'll see each other again

I lived in Mbeya in 1965 and 1966. Population was then 10,000, maybe 12,000. I returned in 1988, and it had grown incredibly but was still recognizable. Now, I don't recognize anything. Thanks for the view.

@bosstv while nyakusya of course are native of the mbeya region, Mbeya has other native tribes too
Tribes native to Mbeya are have lived there for a very long period. They are Sangu, Safwa,Nyakyusa, Ndali, Kinga, Wanji, Lambya, Nyiha, Wungu, Kimbu , Rungwa
For instance the actual native tribe who risides in the mountains near the mbeya city are Safwa

Towards the end of the video I heard Stella song by freshley mwamburi, a musician from Kenya. Kenyan music is okay but bongo flavor could have been much better.
A lovely and colourful video, my compliments. The developments and new buildings would not be out of place in any city in a developed country. And the town looks verdant and fresh and fertile. Lots of trees and green verges alongside the roads. Well done the local authorities.
But, and there is always a but, the video contradicts your statements. Whilst I understand that the town is still a work in progress, disappointingly there is still a lot of litter in the streets and the pavements look in disrepair. Some of the roads were well potholed.
I find the claim that it has a population of 2M+ people a bit confusing as I have also watched other videos in which the number is closer to 450,000. Are you quoting from official census data?

The natives of the city are Safwa.... The Nyakyusa are natives of Tukuyu and Kyela
Safwa are found very little in mbeya city but nyakyusa are many and this is big trible
