Nah... Obviously this cadenza is amazing, but the real crazy things for the Horn are in the music of the baroque period... The composers of that era put virtous things that you usually see in others instruments like violin or clarinet but in the Horn... That era its a real challenge for anyone (of any instrument) but more for the French Horn players

And, if you doesnt listened the baroque Horn music yet, i recommend you the CD of baroque music played by Barry Tuckwell, a really virtous hornist, his sound and agility are really amazing. I have to say, that CD is my favorite and i every time i hear it, i enjoy how the music and the soloist can express beautiful feelings through really difficult melodies...
this is truly incredible. full respect for the player. so clean and played with such passion....and those super high notes are outstanding. i'd love to play this as well as he/she who did this recording!
Because it's a cadenza, and so it's to be played at the speed the player chooses. So the notation is more of a guide, saying that those 128th notes are to be played faster than the 64th notes or 32nd, etc. Etc.
In a piece that is an hommage to Tchaikovsky to have an hommage to the Cadenza is totally meta... those octave trills! nice work and some mind blowing playing.

Hi anthony, I wrote this cadenze for my first public performance of the gliere concerto sometime in the early 90's. It leans on or borrows from the cadenzas by Polekh, Buyanovsky and Baumann in addition to the original source material from the concerto itself. Thanks for listening!

because it's a run with intentional notes. A rip is more of a half-valved or lip gliss.

Its a cadenza, meaning a usually unaccompanied part of a concerto, usually not written by the composer
I believe Karl was the person who wrote this cadenza, as you can see his last name as the composer in the upper right hand corner.
