I don't think the conservatism of Glière's style matters in the case of this concerto (as well as his one for harp): they're both delightful compositions, exquisitely written, and genuinely valuable additions to their instrument's repertoire.
Hello! I love this piece! Does anyone have the french horn part transposed to concert pitch, preferably in bass clef? I want to play this on the trombone. Thank you!
Reinhold Gliere - Horn Concerto in B-flat major, Op. 91
1. - Allegro: 0:00
2. - Andante: 12:33
3. - Moderato - Allegro vivace: 18:57
Fun fact: This was made post-romantic period, even though it sounds like it wasn't
This is amazing

The cadenza was definitely on the extra side of things lol
You may wish to see Karl Kramer's too, it is also quite crazy. th-cam.com/video/41BhGVRjra4/w-d-xo.html

Do you have the video where Baborak comes out? Apparently they have deleted it from TH-cam

13:56 The cor solo suddenly went from 2 flats to three flats, then back to two lol
Polytonality in the cadenza!! Show off! Mind you if I were that good.........
Don’t think it’s polytonality, but there’s definitely some multiphonics, so singing harmonizing with the buzzing/playing.
@@jonasdanielseneskeland3001 yeah that’s mainly what it is
Who plays the horn?
pretty sure its cor. solp
I think this particular one is Radek Baborak
@@BuisnessBacca007 yes , is Baborak

Is 16:47 supposed to sound like that?
yes.
It makes me wonder what that would sound like on euphonium.
probably pretty same but with more warm sound and less concentrated sound
