And I love how the type of battle seems to be different from Kaien's situation. Kaien's battle was for honor, but Ukitake's fight is to save the lives of everyone. And Rukia knew instantly that this is something Ukitake must do. It also mirrors Shunsui's situation perfectly. Shunsui mentions the battle for honor vs life as well, and he realizes this is a battle for life, and he will discard any honor he might have, making a deal with Aizen of all people, if it means it protects everyone.
even tho we barely got much of ukitake, he was one of the best and most likeable captains, he deserved better, he deserved a bankai reveal :( also, I loved the slice of life moments from the backstory, I love action and fights but wholesome moments in bleach r even better!! they somehow made aizen even more menacing and brutal than yhwach
What do you mean by we barely got much of Ukitake, exactly? He got plenty imo. Both before the TYBW and here. I can't think of many characters who got half an episode in the TYBW, Komamura's whole fight and flashback was like half an episode lol

@pivo-sama hey I'm not here to agree or disagree with you. All I will say is that saying that kenpachi vs komomura is a real fight Is just wrong. Komomura activated his bankai and then the rest of the fight didn't exist. In terms of screen time, this fight didn't happen.

I think any power that directly belongs to the Soul King is greater than Yhawch foresight so he can’t see any future related to that. We saw a similar situation between him and Ichibei during their flashback meeting where Ichibei sealed his eyes using the left hand
Well, almighty was once and still is Soul king ability, so yes, everything that is part of the soul king and soul king himself is completely immune to the almighty.

Also to be sure that you got all the details, mimihagi sama who saved Ukitake up until now is the Right (edit: not the left one ^^') arm of the soul king (quiet literally since the soul king's body was carved up long ago). And as Shunsui said his power is stilness, which is why ukitake's disease stoped progressing, but did not heal either... This is what I find amazing about this character... he could have lamented over his conndition and never even bother try to become a shinigami. Yet even though he had to endure so much pain daily he chose to become a shinigami and fight for his ideals. He is a true source of inspiration.

If you remember, when Aizen was leaving the Soul Society after his betrayal came to light, he was talking to Ukitake as he ascended to Hueco Mundo, in his speech he said “No one ever stood atop the heavens before, not you, or I, or the Gods”, Kubo confirmed that him saying ‘you’ specifically to Ukitake was because he knew of his relationship with the Soul King’s Right Arm.
Love that when Kyouraku undid Aizens mouth, the seals of Left eye and ankles were also undid, and when Aizen said you have 2 more keys to use right, Kyouraku used the keys on Left eye and ankles😂😂 Also people would say its Kyokasuigetsu which just makes situation more complicated and raise question like when did he switch etc, so no its Aizen himself and someone who doesnt know how his seals were undone, can read SAFWY novel

As Aizen approaches with his eye and Ankles unlocked, it was his typical superior behaviour which asked Kyouraku to use his rest of 2 keys, implying he should use them to unlock more parts of his body, but Kyouraku cunningness unlocked the already unsealed parts aka eye and Ankles without wasting a second. Hence Aizen also replies:" you haven't changed at all".
the GOAT is back, those peasant thought they could just go and touch the Lord himself, the new kids are not well informed it seems, this was one of my favourite manga scenes. So happy to hear Aizen's voice again, to me is the most iconic voice in anime history, i always recognize it immediately in every show.
It's amazing that despite being sick, Ukitake probably has so much reiatsu and so strong that he could even become a captain. It's just that since Mimihagi-sama kept his condition to a still, no one could ever heal him eventhough they should be capable to.

I’ll just point it out, since it’s a nice detail: do you remember in Soul Society Arc, when Aizen betrayed everyone and ascended to Hueco Mundo? He said: “No one ever stood at the top of the world. Not me , not you not even gods….ecc” when he said “Not you” Ukitake was shown. Out of all the more important character at that moment kubo chose to show Ukitake. That means that Aizen new even back then that Ukitake had some power of the Soul king. It’s not really confirmed but it’s almost obvious that it was implied.
When u think that shunsui is the only one left of the old generation... First He lost Yama then unohana and now ukitake and had to become captain commander which he never wanted ( and his upcoming depressing back story) it just feels sad 😢

Think most of Ukitake's background story was anime only. In any case, both season 3 and 4 will have a lot of extra content that was not part of the manga and fills out some missing pieces and also addresses some of the complaints that the manga felt more and more rushed as it neared its ens.
He was not saved by Soul King. He was saved by the right hand of Soul King which had become an independent existence. Soul King didn't have any decision on saving Jushiro Ukitake.
I think maybe he did. He could see all the futures amd I think different things needed to happen for the "perfect end". Please no spoilers in case anime only people read this

Ulitake may not have had a boat load of screen time, even in in the first part of bleach, but when ever he was on the screen I loved it. They knew how to make his presence impactful no matter what.. So I am confused about the people in the soul society, they're supposed to be dead people, right? But they seem to grow old, and even have kids of their own. Their Reiatsu are so powerful that reincarnating them would affect the balance of the world, so once they die they get sent to hell) Yes, souls in Soul Society can give birth, in fact, even Hollows can give birth.
There are souls that was brought from the living world after they're dead. This type have no family in the soul society. There're also those that were born in the soul society forming a family or even clans.

This shows shunsui's intelligence coz Old man Yama could never have asked aizen for help.
