    Hey my friend this is a very informative video. I have two of these 300/4’s and hopefully I can get to them in the next couple of weeks and I will let you know what I find and I thank you for possibly pointing me in the right direction.

    The 300/2 and /4 are absolutely amazing amplifiers, where SQ is concerned.

    is there a shop you recommend for JL repair? my 300/4 v1 is doing exactly what you described. the rta graph when playing pink noise is very weird, and the dd1 doesnt even want to show signal sometimes(not the head unit or rca's)

    Hey man thanks for sharing the video. I have a 450/4 and I have a low ohms light channel 3 and 4 is working but 1 and 2 doesn't.
    Would have an idea on what you think it is?

    • @THEtechknight
      @THEtechknight  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to say, but if I were to hazard a guess, probably shorted output transistors in those channels and 50/50 chance it damaged the driver modules.

  • @BEAMERNOOB
    @BEAMERNOOB 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I accidentally had a 12v touch the ground on the rca and now there is no sound on any of the Channels on my 300/4. Do you think it could be a burned trace?

    anyway i can send an amp over to you for repair has a low ohm light on 300/4 and maybe check a 500/1 make sure its up to par works fine at the moment ..

    Was hoping you would turn the status display around. I pulled my wires out and need to know what color wire goes where to back of display LEDs.

    • @THEtechknight
      @THEtechknight  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope ive never had issues with the LEDs and their wires. Its all put back together now. But its not hard to figure out. Black is GND, Red is power, and then its the other 2 you have to figure out.

    I have a Slash 500/1 that is dropping volume once in a while . Still plays loud but doesnt hit hard . Someone mentioned to me that the amp has cards in it , which you just showed , and the plugins from the card cause this sometimes . Have you seen this ? He called these daughter cards . lol

    • @THEtechknight
      @THEtechknight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Doesnt hit hard" is a very vague and broad statement. Could be alot of things to internal faults all the way up to bad connections on the ground/power/speaker, loose/dirty switches on the crossover, etc.

    • @MikeMcChiken
      @MikeMcChiken 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did all the cleaning . Pots , switches and the daughter board plug-ins. Then I stumbled on what I think it is . My ppi par225 . Either volume knob or op amps im thinking . I do have a question on setting the voltage on the speaker lines . I'm putting a par245 in now . So should all controls be flat on that to get the my 32 volt speaker output ? It did still hit but the bass would drop a little . When I pumped the eq volume I would get it back

    I have one of these amps that I need to pull apart to clean the switches on, would you recommend some dielectric grease in this area just to circumvent this corrosion?

    I own a Phillips 5.1 system, recently I noticed there is low volume on the rear right surround channel compared to the other channels, why?

    I have a jl 1000/1 i brought it to a local shop and they said its running to hi voltage and i would have to send it to jl audio. It just blows subs if i run it, also the little caps inside get so hot their actually blowing outward, they said theirs to much voltage running through it. I am curious if i should just scrap it or pay to fix it if its a small issue

    Hi, I have a JL 300/4 v1 amp and when I wiggle the power and ground cables beside the remote wire the red thermal light goes on and off. Any ideas why? Could the daughter board be loose? Sometimes when the thermal light is on the speakers distort badly

    hey I know this was from a couple of years ago but this is my first time attempting to fix an amplifier and I can't figure out how to get the board out of the enclosure. I was trying to get the output terminals from the inside so I was taking the input board off but I can't get it back on. is there a way to do it without taking the entire board out?

    • @THEtechknight
      @THEtechknight  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mean the spring clamps? there is a hole on top. Grab a stout allen key 90-degree wrench, and put it inside the whole, and pry towards you which wil put downward force on the spring. it will then pop off. Be careful, you can bend/shear the spring if you overdo it. to put them on, you need to tap it back into place until it bottoms out.
