Ellsworth winning the women's MITB was almost as bad as Santino winning the Diva's Battle Royal. At least the Ellsworth incident had some storyline consistency. But both screamed of Vince saying, "A meaningful women's match? Wouldn't it be hilarious if..."
You know what? I'll give the Santina thing more credit because they eventually ended the gimmick with the revelation that Santina really was Santino's sister and not just him in drags the entire time, which was the first and last entertaining part of that gimmick. So at least, canonically that Battle Royale WAS won by a woman.
The MITB match where Ellsworth “won” the briefcase is the Cyberpunk of MITB matches, it looked absolutely awesome and everybody was excited for it, then they got the end product and realized they should’ve saved their pennies
At 4:45, I gotta admit, the ladder match with Stone Cold taking on Vince and Shane wasn’t that interesting, in fact King Of The Ring 1999 was a boring show 👎
I saw the #2 pick on this list live and boy did the crowd not give any fucks about that match. In fact, the promo that preluded the match got over more (which even then wasn't that much) than the actual match. People ho-hummed after it was over and were ready for the show to start.
My ladder top 5 ever 1 Money in the Bank 2011 RAW 2 Wrestlemaina 22 3 Money in the Bank 2015(Shemaus) 4 Money in the Bank 2014 World Heavyweight Championship 5 Wrestlemaina 23
I can't resist saying that if anyone reading this hasn't seen the ladder match between Crazy Crusher Vs Hell Storm from EWR then you owe it to yourself to watch it. You'll never look at ladder matches in quite the same way after watching that.
I don't think Nash vs HHH was bad, however Kevin Nash being there in the feud between Punk and HHH was the epitome of "Who Invited my man blud😭,bro think he is in the team😭" or "They be just letting anybody in💀"
Bobby lashley vs Elias still makes my head hurt like you got A triple threat tag team match Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins Aj styles vs Daniel Bryan And instead of giving the stipulation to those matches you give to Elias and lashley so they can fight over a fucking guitar 😒thank god Vince is gone because that was stupid
@@noobyguyplays1776 I know it’s just thats a waste for the stipulation which could’ve gone to a much more deserved match particularly that triple threat tag team match like really you got 3 of the best tag teams on smackdown live at the time and instead of having them climb a ladder for the tag team titles we got Bobby lashley and Elias fighting over a fucking guitar that could’ve been put on a pole
Didn't they 'replay' the women's MITB Ladder Match on the follow Smackdown, which Carmella then won anyway. Makes the Ellsworth decision even more ridiculous
While the #1 one absolutely deserves the spot, the first women's MITB should be higher. That match straight up made me almost quit watching wrestling for a while. The horrendous booking, weaker than expected performance with half the competitors being solid to great performers, ane worst of all, them running it back on Smackdown and changing nothing but making Carmella actually grab the briefcase. They could have just done the smackdown one at MITB and the complaints of giving someone as green as Carmella the first MITB win over Charlotte, Becky, or even Natalya would have been one of the far fewer complaints.
the three stages of hell match was a good match overall imo but the ladder match was a little lacking but i feel like it’s understandable because triple h was injured and they just wrestled for like 20 minutes before the ladder match part happened
The idea of the finish of the the 1st Woman's Money in the Bank Ladder Match was an interesting idea to be fair, just implanted horribly. The idea that a heel would have someone else who isnt in the match retrieve the briefcase for them is a interesting finish, but it should have been done with an actual female, not Ellsworth. Also does a third of a match actually count? I know Triple H and Michaels Ladder Match at Armageddon 02 is bad, but it's a third of a match.
For context first ever Men’s Money in the Bank Edge wins and completes the greatest cash in still possibly ever. First ever Women’s Money in the Bank won by a crappy male comedy and mixed gender match wrestler with no chin resulting in a cash in I have zero memory of I’m glad we went from that to a world where NXT gave their women a mid card title in a ladder match that was an utter banger then just a couple weeks later the Women’s Money in the Bank from this year crushed the Men’s match by a mile
Ladder matches generally suck actually. I see people get excited for spots that took two minutes to set up. Yeah, this list is full of okay matches that I find better than a lot of MITBs just because they feel like real matches instead of stunt fests.
Me and a couple of friends watched the 15th anniversary of raw… Carlito vs Jeff Hardy for the ic title in a ladder match…somehow they made it a walk and brawl With ladders…and it ended very anticlimactic, when Jeff just…regularly won.
That random ass Kevin Nash sneak during what should've been a straight up HHH/Punk feud really was one massive stroke of abhorrent creative booking
Vintage Vince
Sometimes things just Kliq
That was HHH booking
Kevin Nash was 51 or 52 at this time…what drugs were they on?!

@@SsnakeBite That's definitely a retcon, I absolutely doubt there was some long-term plans in place by WM25.
Nash vs Triple H is actually better than it should have been.
At least no quads were torn.
The fact that Ellsworth has beaten Styles three times is mind boggling
You can thank Dean Ambrose for that.
And fourth time wasn't the charm when he Styles one with a simple punch to the face like in that pilot episode of Drake and Josh
they should bring back the 3 stages of hell match
The MITB match where Ellsworth “won” the briefcase is the Cyberpunk of MITB matches, it looked absolutely awesome and everybody was excited for it, then they got the end product and realized they should’ve saved their pennies
To this day I don't remember saving a dime for that game it just showed up to my house with my name on it
Eh doesnt work because cyberpunk is a masterpiece now. Tbe ellsworth thing only gets worse the more u think about it
I was in the audience in Ottawa. I don't know how it played on TV but the crowd was very much into the match.
At 4:45, I gotta admit, the ladder match with Stone Cold taking on Vince and Shane wasn’t that interesting, in fact King Of The Ring 1999 was a boring show 👎
If only we could have seen HBK vs Elsworth. Can you sweetchin when there is no chin to kick?
😂 comment of the day my friend 😂

@@roonkolos Thanks so much!
Good comment
And yet, I would take every single one of those matches over the "best" scaffold match.
I don't know, I could watch Cornette wreck himself over and over and over...
Just when I was about to search through the archives to find something to watch with my lunch 😂

Same! Watching this while eating dinner 🤣

I still say the Sledgehammer ladder wasn't too bad both worked with the limitations and had a not so terrible match honestly. Slow but effective.
It wasn't awful but if it had been a Sledgehammer on a Pole match the same effect would've been achieved, and I think that would've been more natural.
True @@gabepollock1641
The match was OK. I think people hate on the whole match/angle because it diminished CM Punk's momentun in 2011.

It also didn't help that none of the women in that match had never competed in a ladder match before.
Oh god the triple h and kevin nash ladder match was just awful
Ellsworth vs styles shouldn't even be on the list. It was a good angle at the time
Can I get a pizza with Bray Wyatt, jumping on a ladder 🪜?

Interesting, I’ll give it a search. Is that a promotion your familiar with or did you just find it on the internet?
Ngl, the women's NA championship ladder match was bad, it wasn't given enough time
Putting powerhouse wrestlers in a ladder match is the dumbest thing ever
I was at TLC 2018, and had completely forgotten that ladder match on the pre-show ever happened.
Now do worst AEW ladder matches so far
1:45 the "titular" 😂😂
"I think they had about a quarter of a quad left between them." 😂
I don't remember the sledge hammer ladder match. Totally convinced I'd misheard it ha
Kevin Nash giving his lower body issues in a ladder match is already funny af
I liked The Austin vs McMahonys ladder match the only thing I didn't like was the finish it worked for the time
Number 2
First off it was done on a KICK OFF SHOW?
Mmmm Pizza 🍕😝
Thanks 🎉
The sledgehammer ladder match could’ve worked in the attitude era or ruthless aggression ears but it didn’t in 2011.
Very random but I’m on board
To be honest that h nash ladder match is not that bad 🤔🤷♂️

Hey! I have an idea for a list! James Ellsworth! Jamison! Izzy! Tammy "Sunny" Fytch! Who is wrestling's biggest accidental celebrity?
lmfao who's idea was it to put Kevin 'The Quadfather' Nash in a match that requires him using his legs (on a ladder)?
Trash can match😂
Ellsworth vs Styles Contract ladder match deserve a spot on this list.

Kurt Angle vs Mike Haywood should be here.

You need the right people in a ladder match
Okay HBK botched that Pedigree, not HHH. HBK was really bad at taking the Pedigree for some reason. I love them both though, my 2 favorites
No way that 1st match was 5min 😮😂
I actually really like the Nash vs HHH match…
Tbh... i liked Shawn V HHH and Nash V HHH
First money in bank for the ladies had a redo on free TV about a week later
The Elseworth Styles match is especially terrible for me because that was my birthday
this whole time i thought the wwe was pandering with the whole womens revolution... apparently they were trolling.
Anything with the miz sucks. Because the miz sucks

The earlier MITB matches that were held at wrestlemania were pretty good until wwe started to make a ppv out of it and do the concept to death
The intros are skipped everytime. Just get right into it. Don't need the cute stuff
Justice for Ellsworth,
Release him from prison as well as resign Dean Ambrose to WWE.
