It's interesting that EA/Madden had these teams rated fairly evenly. People forget, the 96 Washington team looked like a Super Bowl contender, starting 7-1, much like Denver. Problem is, their schedule and deficiencies (particularly running the ball consistently) caught up to them.

This looks like a game I could've enjoyed, but the inability to watch CPU vs CPU games during the regular season, as well as some frustrating glitch that kicks you back to the EA Sports screen when simulating an exhibition game after the first half kills it for me. For some reason, these issues never occur in the Genesis version, while the glitch continued into Madden 98 on SNES.
@@sports_fix I mean, I think it's a good game, but it just doesn't work for me in that one area that I really enjoy. I'd still recommend it to others who don't care about all CPU matches.

Wow yeah, just confirmed it myself that's whack. Somehow in years of playing this one I never caught that
