You need to visit Chorão Island 🏝... it has a rich history and heritage.... from having the 1st monestry in Goa to having the only bird century in Goa...
Aldona, my dear village. Great surprise and pleasure to see Manuel, my close relative. Our late Uncle Juze also managed the bar at the Institute while tailoring in the day time. Johann's house is wonderful. Envied the wine tasting. Viva.

The name Vindalho is derived from the the two main ingredients of this dish. Vinho which is wine in Portuguese and Alhe which is garlic in Konkani. Over time wine got replaced with local toddy vinegar since it was more affordable. Vindhaloo doesn't involve any aloo(potato) or tomato. The version served in most Indian restaurants is nothing like the original. Vindhaloo is also originally made with Pork and the fat of the pork is what gives it it's distinct taste.
I feel proud that in my last trip to goa, we explored inner goa. There we visited Aldona. It's a beautiful village, lush green. Thank you for refreshing the memories!!
