from a yoga perspective I always thought about it as adjusting breathing ratios, short : long inhale : exhale is relaxing, short : short is energizing in practice 1 : 4 is for beginners, 1 : 8 starts getting quite steady and above 1 : 16 time slows down but that requires either practice or flow similarly, on the fast end, you don't want to breathe much faster than 1:2, unless you're doing very strenuous exercise 1:1 is hyperventilation territory anyways, in context, it's much more practical to think of it as double exhale or double inhale, I like it
I've heard this called the "reset breath." Always good stuff. Thank you.
Saved to one of my Playlists. Great advice!

Dr. Huberman is awesome
I've heard many times about "box breathing" but this is the first time I've heard of this breathing method. Where have I been?
Breathing is good 😎😎
