As this year has been declared the 'International Year of Millets', I think, many of the countries that face this hunger crisis should start growing millets. It is a lot more easier to grow (less demanding) as wheat or rice.
It is also far healthier than the two. People and countries should reduce their dependence on wheat.

Umm...can't understand much, right? India isn't facing any of these problems. Instead, it has surplus food but recently, other countries have started importing too much from India since China can't provide them. It resulted in inflation in food prices in India so, their gov. banned exports.
They aren't obliged to care for people not their own, ya know? That's how the world works & I hope you know that India is as large as whole Europe minus Russia. Their population is just right for development & security. Any less, & they will be crying like Japan & S. Korea.
Food is plenty availabl- is taken for granted but due to global warming /cilmate change, obvious decline in production. Further compounded by Ukraine crisis. Countries like US have large land with them but not being used for producing food but most of these countries keen on manufacturing. Analysis is insightful.

Extended famine is a present reality. Extreme heat and raging storms worldwide have damaged crops and installations. Add shipping disruptions to round the scene. Most nations are preparing to try to avoid the inevitable a bit longer.
WEF and world leaders have signed a pact to reduce world population and they are all working towards that goal. Pandemic, wars, food crisis, "climate change" and designed "natural disasters", AI are all a means to achieve those goals. Your next trip should be to Davos.

Indian farmers have been very creative and hardworking. Despite arid conditions, some places have become green and productive due to creative water retention ideas. If Indians can it, so can Africans but they are not. They have to starve and die.

We have money but no long term vision.
When I warned about the threat of antimicrobial resistant bacterial infection to medical profession, and our existence I mentioned how this will result in poverty, and starvation. Bacteria are the inhabitants of a world that we cannot see. These microscopic organisms infect not only humans, every living animal, and plants. Infecting plants will result in climate changes, and help fungus thrive on dead and sick plants. In this video Palki Sharma talks about climate change but does not associate how bacteria can tilt the balance. Plants thrive on carbon dioxide, and release oxygen. Malnourished children, and adults are prone to get more infections, and so ARM will spread resulting in epidemics, and pandemics. This why, I published books, created apps to help people remove the veil of illusion (Maya) identify infected individuals and isolate them, if not the world will turmoil that you cannot comprehend.
Palkiji why don't you come out with a research paper or a video post showing how hunger can be defeated by making ten or twenty percent of the population from being non-vegetarian to vegetarian. Jai Shriram.
Countries investing on armaments, instead of fighting hunger
The Centre is able to control inflation well within the targeted level of 4-6%. Not simply statistics. Except tomato all vegetables are available at a reasonable price despite heavy rain. India should help the world ward off hunger (without affecting national interest).

The UN target for funding for hunger is 40 Bn, they only get 14 Bn, and the US alone has a military budget of > 800 Bn. She's SO right that the impacts of malnutrition are lifelong, which makes it SO much worse. These situations are tests, and we're failing miserably.
India's military budget is 81.4B$. They can easily make up the 40-14=26B$ shortfall. Lead India!!
Better yet... China's military budget is 250B$. The Chinese can lead the world in a solution!!

Military budgets and oil/fossil profits and pharma/fashion etc have only seen increase at the expense of planet and humans. It’s like asking for charity from the lords of misery. The boat will continue to sink with this approach.
Priority for countries facing hunger is population control, example India. Other countries arnt so lucky because they lack educated population; where India has a bit of an advantage. Also there is no abroad in my view that can export food for the world; global south per Caspian Report is headed towards state of “sacrifice zone” with rising temperatures. Turn around of the scale required can only happen with public awareness and participation. Unless of course like the vaccine we discover magic science to reduce/stop/reverse climate change; but that’s not in scope for todays actions for most of us.
You mentioned another let’s face it scenarios like investing in climate change or world peace; you are 💯 right.
In my view, educated public is not paying attention while poor are too ignorant to understand how they got there. It is government’s duty to establish reforms. Public listened when pandemic restrictions were imposed; food insecurity, climate change, AI induced job losses are equally if not greater in scale than a pandemic. Let the public know - address it via awareness and reforms and looks like besides govt; authentic news media can help implement that.
