Now this is making me understand why Honda did away with a “performance” accord because they are trying to get all the attention to something like this. It’s good to see that cars are still living on here in America
The accord was better because of the 2.0t engine from the type R, and no they got rid of it because it was killing their sales on the acura TLX being 10k more.

I would really like to see it with the Type R 2.0T + a dual motor hybrid setup that outputs around 300-350 HP, but maybe that's asking for too much.
With an Accord hybrid setup for the Prelude with a bit of Civic Si and Civic Type R punch and a manual transmission like the CRZ had with a hybrid setup, you could be looking at something great here in 1 more year calendar year as a 2025 model year vehicle.

Interesting. It would be really cool if it had the Type R engine powering the front and electric running the back end with some type of rear differential to send power to one wheel on turns. And, make a manual available!
Always bringing it joe. Good to see this and other name plates are coming back, but it's such a pitty it's in this day and age where ICE cars and Manual transmissions are dying out..
I ❤ Honda. Each and every Honda, from the NR750 to the Supercub, from the NSX to the Jazz. With this superb Prelude, one more gem joins the family: Welcome!
I owned a 1990 Prelude for 12 years. It was the first car I bought after graduating from college. Just this past April, I bought a 2001 Prelude SE, manual transmission and I LOVE IT! I was planning on keeping it through the 25th anniversary of the last production year of the Prelude. Now I am torn as to whether I should sell it and buy a new hybrid Prelude or keep it and buy a new hybrid Prelude.
I had an 84 Prelude, was a great little car, nice soundsystem. Now I drive a 2003 Mercedes c230 Coupe, fastback, w_panorama roof, supercherger w/4cyl. 189 hp, new interior, all leather, new Toyo Extenza II all seasons, slotted rotors, Alpine/12 inch sub, Clifford alarm, 33 mpg hwy... I have 120K miles on it, engine is clean like new 👍
It'd be silly for Honda not to make a Prelude Type R with this new platform and overall look. It would be an absolute beast, especially if it's all-wheel drive.
Am interested to know where they want this to compete. Will they really jazz up their hybrid drivetrain to make this a Supra/Z competior? Or will this me more like an 86/BRZ deal? In any case, Im excited for it. Hope we get more info on it soon.
It’s going to compete to the 86/Brz most likely, I don’t see Honda trying to compete with the Supra/Z, those type of coupes are not selling, and are being marked up trying to sell to an idiot with money lol
Rati brooo, soon a s you said Si my heart dropped and I knew without a doubt that if - this doesn’t come out with a Manual transmission (Si) I’m probably going to get another (sold mine a couple years ago for a WRX which I then sold for my Batmobile Miata) 2020 Civic Si coupe - I miss it so much (not really the WRX)
Yooo an Integra coupe though! I can’t get both (I mean I could but 1 at a time) I still have to save up for the Honda Beat (… but I also can’t wait for the S660 to become “legal” too!)
Looks a bit big and heavy, BUT it is sooo refreshing to see a car without a huge flat front end and oversized grille, (like the Integra and basically everything else on the market rn). Also just so nice to see a coupe again! And this looks damn near production ready.

What a lovely design. Thanks for bringing it to us. Best wishes Joe and Lori
put a engine option and youre sold
Return of a legend. Can't wait!!!
Interesting. It would be really cool if it had the Type R engine powering the front and electric running the back end with some type of rear differential to send power to one wheel on turns. And, make a manual available!
Thanks for doing this video, Joe. Great to see the car up close.
Great looking car, I'm glad Honda's bringing it back.
This looks gorgeous. I really like Honda’s newest design language. So concise.
Hoping for a hybrid manual like the CR-Z, but with a good bump in horsepower
Your prediction was correct ! It appears to be coming in 2025 ! The car I should have purchased in 1978, now I will.
the backside reminds a lot of the porsche 992
Looks so elegant for no reason man, so gooood!!!
Always bringing it joe.
Good to see this and other name plates are coming back, but it's such a pitty it's in this day and age where ICE cars and Manual transmissions are dying out..
Agreed, I heard “hybrid” and was immediately uninterested. I’ll stay happy with my 6spd 24 civic
I ❤ Honda. Each and every Honda, from the NR750 to the Supercub, from the NSX to the Jazz. With this superb Prelude, one more gem joins the family: Welcome!
It looks so good. So happy to see something sporty coming from honda for 2025
I owned a 1990 Prelude for 12 years.
I missed my 2000 Prelude from 2003, I drove it until 2010! lol Sharp car, especially with OEM lipkit and JDM yellow foglights
YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!! NOT A DAMN EV CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell me about it
Malheureusement c'est une Hybride alors, non pas pour moi...
I had a 93 with a H22 back in the days! Love the Prelude!
If they do a Type R version of this, I might trade in my Mustang GT 👀
I'm a Chinese,I like your program.I climb the wall see your commentary
5:04 that would be a game changer and Great Idea, Joe.
Thanks for saying that!
One can dream
Definitely looking forward to hearing more about it! It looks promising!
I want to see the engine and interior so bad
❣️ Thank you for the exclusive, Joe and Lori! 🤠❣️
Man Honda really stepped up their game this year.
Big time for sure
@@RaitisRides glad we agree
1980s Porsche styling is back in production 😂
I just want to see the interior lol
Stay tuned!
Just can't wait for the reveal.
Convertible Prelude would be amazing!
Beautiful smooth sleek design by Honda on this Prelude. Can’t wait to see the interior and you Joe going on throttle.
I honestly think the new Prelude looks WAY BETTER than the new Supra and Nissan Z.
Really beautiful. Properly designed body style is the most important. Honda got a clear winner here for sure.
Great review as always! ❤️👋👋👋👋. Let’s see if Honda will add the 2 visible rear exhaust pipes for the sportier appearance! Thanks
This is awesome news that they brought the Prelude back ❤
Giving me Toyota vibes, and I’m not mad about it ❤
Raiti throwing 100mph fastballs rn.
Yes sir this is definitely a foundation for more to come. They killed off the accord coupe for this one
Best looking Honda I have seen in a very long time.
Looks a bit big and heavy, BUT it is sooo refreshing to see a car without a huge flat front end and oversized grille, (like the Integra and basically everything else on the market rn). Also just so nice to see a coupe again! And this looks damn near production ready.
