- In honor of Disney100, here is my Encanto Reaction! This movie is an absolute sensation and full of heart. I brought my vocal coach DayleSong to contribute to this Real Vocal Coach Reacts to Encanto movie reaction. Disney celebrates their 100th anniversary today October 16, 2023. So as Doctor Disney, I join them in celebrating the magic!

This is a very Colombian word
Actually “Encanto” doesn’t mean “sing”. It means “Charm”, or “Enchantment”. The word “cantar”, means “Sing”. I speak Portuguese which is very similar to Spanish.
The real villain is generational trauma. You had a woman who had to flee from her original home, lost her husband in a brutal way that she had to see with her own eyes, and then try to raise 3 kids by herself while also trying to lead the town that the candle protected. She didn’t have time to heal and she had a lot on her shoulders.. it doesn’t make it right but it was a lot for her to go through, therefore hardening her and making it difficult for her to just enjoy her family. And the consequences of that are her children and grandchildren began trying to please her because she probably didn’t show very much emotion towards them.
I feel like the end is a passing of torch from Grandmother to Mirabel as the holder of the miracle with no power of her own. Mirabel is the future HOH
Love this movie every time I see it, and I’m never sick of the soundtrack, so I’ve got to do it 10/10! Lol

Please tell me your rating video is coming soon! Encanto is a 9.5 for me. There's so much beautiful symbolism in the and the family dynamics and psychological pressures it gets into blow me away. Plus the Dos Oruguitos scene makes me bawl every time.
