    Good tips. I’m just starting diving with the gear (wetsuit, weights, gun etc).
    Already managed to drown mask and snorkel, you would think cressi nano wouldn’t fogg up, it was terrible, eventually when I was trying to film some seals watching me and hunting nearby I didn’t notice mask slipping of my forehead (kept taking it off as it kept fogging up, spit didn’t help at all).
    For me a float is one of the most important equipment, especially if you have no buddy, it gives some sort of safety feeling and defo peace of mind while resting + you can attach some gear to it.
    Great video as usual 😉

    The kids got some safety masks and went down to the local tyre shop and plundered all their lead. They made all their own dive weights which is pretty cool.
    As a nearly noob the biggest improvement was the open cell wetsuit. Next a rubber weight belt. Any simple gun is good enough.

      That is awesome! Love some DIY. Yeah i stoned plenty of “prize” bass in the UK with a £40 speargun

    surprised there was no chat about making your own gear! so many guys nowadays wouldn't know how to make up a set of rubber to save their life; best way to extend a budget is to DIY

      In a place like Sydney with a variety of different clubs i would recommend joining one and tagging along on a social dive :)

    Great vid mate!! Haha except the Leave the gun at home... knowing myself I can never do that eh took the hunting bow green as on two hunting trips and they were my most successful hahaha then failed when I got more skilled 🤣🤣 (not the same as diving tho)

    • @WetMammal
      @WetMammal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hahah yeah and it depends how often you go, if you are diving once a week no dramas to leave the gun at home whilst you learn, if you are diving once a month probably take the gun with you

    Why doesn't "what's this fish?" go down too well? 21:25

    • @WetMammal
      @WetMammal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Because you should never shoot a fish that you cant identify. We are better than that and we need to establish a culture of informed spearfishing. Take what we know and what we need not what we can

    Was taught that a mask should stay on your face as you gently breathe in through your nose. Without the straps being behind your head. That means it fits your face correctly. Sometimes, the $300 mask is not right for you.

      100% man thats it, expensive doesn’t mean its the right fit
