That was perfect! I have been doing Xlights since it was Nutcracker, but had not been able to sit down and properly import an external sequence. That made it SO easy! I pulled in the Xlights Around the World sequence, mapped and rendered it with no issues! Thanks a ton for this video!

Nice instructional, (I actually picked up a couple small non topic related things). I also like how you went into talking about mapping to your standing snowman. As my layout is a bit custom not all vendor layouts (I call them "Picture Frames") fit to my layout, but I have found as you mentioned that you can just put any props effects onto any other props you just gotta try test and try again till it looks pretty good. xLights is only complicated only because it is so diverse.

By far the easiest way I've seen to do it yet. Thanks!

Newbie here moving from Light O'Rama to Xlights. Outstanding video! Good job explaining each step, clear and concise. I liked the mapping explanation. Up until now I wasn't sure how to break down my display to map in sequences. Looking forward to viewing your other videos and hopefully some future videos are coming. Thank you for taking the time to make this and other videos. Hopefully I'm on my way to getting everything to work.

Thanks! I'm going to make a couple more videos in the next couple weeks as I roll my show out again this year. Glad this video was helpful!

If you use a shadow model for your tree using multiple controllers you can ride yourself of having to place them in a group. I recommend not placing mega trees in a group. Rendering will be faster for these models by themselves.

Do you have a video on how to make the “WindowTV Matrix”?

I haven't done one yet (will be adding a projector this year and will make one soon), but the one I used to get started is this: th-cam.com/video/JdmPqFlsDj4/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=FPPShorts It doesn't have some of the steps to turn the TV on and off automatically, but has the virtual matrix steps outlined pretty well.

very Helpful. New to Hobby/craft and learning a ;lot from great folks like you
Have a question, when doing Sequence is it all in one directory I.E.. (C:\shows\) or each one in its own I.E.. (C:\shows\let it snow or C:\shows\ drummer boy , etc )
I have purchased a few and learning how to import to my small layout is a curve but is coming along but my layout is only under the ( C:\shows ) I have 4 different ones under that and not in individual folders

I have a /Sequences/ folder inside my /Show/ folder and then I organize each sequence inside there. I download my sequence import file into the /Show/Sequences/SequenceName/ folder just to make sure it's easy to find when/if I want to re-import the sequence.
