- It was about time for a proper car - I'm taking the Chevrolet Camaro V8 convertible on a couple of mountain passes. Is the all-new Camaro going to give me all the things I want in an American muscle car? Can the Chevrolet Camaro with this naturally aspirated 6.2 L engine satisfy my hungry soul? @@AnnaOnRoads Hi Anna, thanks for your warm response. Before this I owned a 2008 Miata (manual) which I loved. Then I bought a 2016 BMW 228i M Sport (manual), in Estoril Blue with red seats. Most beautiful car I think I’ll ever own. So beautiful, but I just didn’t enjoy driving her. The shifting was always awkward (terrible rev hang and too long clutch travel) and held back the cars performance. Was great on highway but irritating to drive as a luxury car and not fun enough for a sports car. I literally was on my way to test drive a Genesis G70, when I saw a 2017 Camaro SS convertible with only 20k miles for a reasonable price (and thought about your review). I test drove her for “s$/ts and giggles” thinking it would be too loud, ride poorly, bad visibility, etc. But it handled better, was more fun, and in many ways had better ride quality than the BMW. I said ”what the hell, let’s live a little.” I’ve loved the car more and more every day. She’s a teddy bear to drive gently and an animal when you push her. Wish she were louder actually (doesn’t have dual sports exhaust). Thanks again. Best wishes, AP.

Brings back memories. I drove through the Swiss Alps in my MG Midget, which I pre-purchased and shipped home to the U.S. when my touring was done, fifty-three years ago.
Anna does a magnificent Tango and takes us all along for the ride.
Chevy, if you don't send Anna her own Camaro, you don't know anything about marketing.
The sound of the engine is intoxicating,love the driver centric dash all in all a raw beast that we dont see much in cars anymore.
Love mine! The convertible makes even that much sweeter! It actually changed our lives! We actually enjoy the drive now. It's not just about the destination anymore, it's the journey! The wife and I are in our 50s and this is the best purchase we've made other than our home. It gives us a reason to get out of the house and just go for a ride somewhere! So fun to drive!!! Worth every penny we paid for it. We rented one on our 25th wedding anniversary in Maui. That was all we needed to order one at our local dealer when we got home.

You had me smiling throughout the video. Wonderful review of my baby, mine is a Garnet Red 2SS with a 6 speed. I'm so happy you enjoyed your time with this one, yes it is a handful, but you handle it with skill, and finesse. There is no motoring more exhilarating than blasting through a canyon with the top down at high rpm. Thank you for such a passion filled review, you are wonderful.

Chevrolet was dishonest in this car's advertised horsepower. Real HP at crank is minimum of 470hp. These are magnificent sports cars in either coupe or convertible body styles. A great review!

Only 11,000 views is a crime. Your review is all that a car review should be: all about driving, driving, driving. And your love for the V8 is what most drivers and reviewers are too scared to speak. Everyone who loves cars loves a V8. Chevy should be using this as an ad in the USA. If I had not just picked up a 2019 Mustang GT, I may have run out to get a Camaro after seeing this. Awesome.

I bought mine brand new in 17' and 63k miles ago. Love this car, but mine is a hardtop. SS 6speed manual.

Good evening Anna! Well, it's evening here, anyway. Now, I'll clue you in on something I would REALLY enjoy if it were ever possible for you to arrange it on your channel. That would be to watch you wheel some old American muscle cars around those picturesque "Swiss roads" and history-steeped mountain vistas that you showcase to such splendid effect in your videos. Of course we all know that those beautiful bruisers of yesteryear were, with a few exceptions, generally not built with winding roads and deft cornering in mind...but....nevertheless, I think you could handle 'em! Sure, many new(er) vehicles are indeed faster, and certainly more ergonomic, efficient, practical, precise, perhaps, shall we say, "civilized." But NOTHING on Earth comes on like those brawny American V-8s of yesteryear when you really punch it down and pour it on. It's a sensory overload of sight, sound, feel, raw emotion, exhilaration, nostalgia, joy and pride. And heck, a little patriotism too if you're American. "Yeah...." we think. "My country MADE THIS. And any Joe or Jane Everyman/woman with a decent regular job could walk in and BUY one and have all this unabashed power and individual expression on tap. And THEN take it home and REALLY make it what you want it to be." There's plenty of classic U.S. muscle over in Europe so getting possession of such a rumbling, shaking, noisy, visceral, neck-snapping, primal wild beast might not be all that difficult. Of course, you may just decide you don't want to hand back the keys after any such excursion. Somewhere, maybe very close by, there's a 4-4-2 or Cyclone Spoiler or Javelin SST or Sport Fury with your name on it!! ; ) : )

Wow what a video, what a sell. Been dreaming of making a purchase and may now hit the dealership. The only dream then would be the colorful curves that lies beneath beautiful, naturally articulated roads, of them Swiss Alps. "Good lord Jeus", I'd love to hotrod up and down with that there views.

Just Yes, Yes and Yes. What an awesome car. The looks and the sound of a V8 even though ill prefer a coupe over the convertible but that's me. I love your apologetic face for all of those eco-warriors ;-). It's must be good to have the steering wheel on the right side for the country driving a car like that, Unlike us Uk people how need the steering wheel on the overside. Hired something similar recently over there and it just suits, not too sure about it being at home in Switzerland though! Any plans on getting your hands on the new Mini Clubman JCW 4 wheel drive, it sound pretty hot.

Get your hands on a ZL1 convertible sometime, it will get your attention even more.....LOL
ZL1 is not for getting attention, it's for racing. If you would buy a ZL1 to show off, you would be a dolt. A ZL1 is not a toy and not to be taken lightly. The car is 1837 kg and it is extremely dangerous in the hands of the casual driver. One can kill oneself extremely efficiently in a ZL1.

Did you know that Dodge Challenger outsells Camaro and Mustang combined in the US? I think that’s the Hellcat effect... Test one of them next, you need to compare to the benchmark, no...? 😇

Dear Anna, I think we can continue our relationship despite your taste of mopars :-). Now, regarding pricing, what can I say: in Greece, you have to pay €81,600 for the mustang GT convertible premium, while at the same time, when it comes out of Flat Rock, MI, it costs $44,500. Almost double the price because of all the stupid taxes. Plus, you have to pay €4,000 per year as "luxury tax" just for owning a car with a 5 liter engine. Apparently, socialism just grew deeper roots in western Europe after it was ousted from the eastern Europe...
Haha, good morning Christou :-) Wow, I didn't know about "luxury" tax in Greece. This has been such a controversy in Australia for example, I'm not sure if the tax will stay, only time will tell. Well, I was born in a communist Poland and we know what we don't want. Many western Europeans think socialism is the way to live, but it's nothing else than communism dressed in flowers...
