This song blew me away when I first heard it. Sounds nothing like anything else on the album. Showed the versatility and quality musicianship they had, as well as a helpful smattering of genius thrown in.
My favourite Rose's tune from the album for personal reasons. This band literally changed my life and I never ever thought I'd get to see them play as I was to young to appreciate them back in the late 80's early 90's but I was lucky enough to see them play at Hampden park for the very last gig supported by Primal Scream. The best gig I have ever been to. It was a party from start to finish and it was a beautiful night. God I love this band.
When I was 19 or 20 my pal Paul & I got super stoned and listened to The Stone Roses for the first time. The fuck you attitude & mellowness blend so well in Shoot You Down. Johns guitar work is sublime, great rhythm section on Mani & Reni. And Ian's singing is superb. Fkn beautiful. I still listen this LP because their songs are timeless. I Am The Resurrection is my fave, what a way to finish the LP.

Haha. Love it. We had a kid from Manchester move and come to our Toronto public school in 1990. And he brought us these goodies. We were young, but we got it. Still getting it. The best stuff.

Mani...bass lord of some repute.
A masterpiece with a blues groove vibe to it. They could play any style of music and have too. A complete one off which I was there to hear and see when they took off for that brief period. Not just a band... A phenomenon.

It did, of course, but what an amazing band from my youth, loving share their music w my 20yish old kids who are falling in love w it like I did. Iconic....

Without the Roses I would never have had the confidence to become a musician and play in many bands myself. Their music and interviews made me believe I could do it. Been playing bass since '91.

Love the Blue's influence.
Blues influence, psychedelic influence, feels like a little jazz on the drums, hell I even hear something that reminds me of school choir in the vocals. They just played with music it seems. Key word is play.

I never EVER thought the day I'd say W😮 W that "I feel the #stoneroses" because when i 1st heard your stuff back in the late 80s I was in to my rave music an indie music just wasn't my scene I mean that, I was more for my warehouse music ie your "rave" then it was happy hardcore, rap, all that stuff but now im like Justin you deprived yourself of listening to one of the best bands not only in the northwest not only in the UK but in the world. Thank You #stoneroses for enlightening me an helping me open my love and also my mind ☮️❤️👊🏻.

To me this track sounds very much like the Grateful Dead and I mean this as a complement. If they had managed to keep it together maybe they could have been as great. They were clearly on the verge of being one of the greatest bands ever and they blew it. Sad.
