They're simple to recreate as I've shown in the video, but if you're looking to share with others or to save them for later when you have an Action Set folder. You can click on the folder, go to the = menu on the panel and go to Save Actions... which you can have to send to friends or if you need to migrate computers etc.
It would be great if Adobe finally made a center-align icon in the Align Panel. Illustrator has gone for years without a center-align function. We shouldn't have to create an action to center-align objects. The Align Panel has every other alignment except center - and it seems that is the very arrangement that most users need.
Hey, great video! This is going to help me out a lot! Just on question. Can you prevent it from overwriting the previously saved file? I'm afraid I'm gonna lose some important files this way.. Thanks in advance :)
Totally a valid concern and yes, it will unfortunately overwrite files. One way is to have the file save to desktop and then, quickly rename it or just move that file to a job folder right away. But I understand how scary that could be and maybe that one isn't the one to use.
CorelDraw, the 'other' overlooked graphic design application has had those functions available for probably close to twenty years. Running macros - which is esentially what AI actions really are, has always been a staple in CD. You can take it further if you have the skills and run endless VB scripts as well. Actions in AI is good but, hardly a new concept.
There's some crazy things you can do with scripts for sure. Scripts and Actions aren't a new concept in Illustrator, but we try and share tips for people who may not know they've existed.
Thanks for watching. What is an Illustrator Action would would create to help your design process?
is there anyway to export these actions to use share them ?

Totally agree, would be nice to have a "Center Center" for sure!
