"For us, the storm has passed... the war is over. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight, was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten."
I find myself coming back to this song quite often. It brings me back to a time of comfort, a time of less worry. The only things that mattered were having fun with my friends on Halo 3. Going through the campaign, playing ranked trying to get as high of a level as we could, endless fun custom games, making maps on forge together. Every day after school, partying up and having some of the best times of our life. We didn't even know it at the time. I'm almost 26 now and i'd do anything to go back to those days. It hurts knowing it won't ever be the same, though im glad most of us here got to experience it. Rest in peace Halo 3, rest in peace my childhood. Never forget
Man, I remember the day's where me and my brothers would all grab a controller, some snacks, and a few pops to play some halo. We would argue over who got to play Chief and had the best time of our lives, the nice days where it was simple! Fun and enjoying! Thank you Halo 3 for bringing us that joy, love, and good memories. Rest in peace you amazing game, while forever resting in our hearts as a game of beauty.
There is so much wrapped up and attached to this music. Memories and nostalgia and an aching desire to go back to a simpler time. I full on ugly cry when I hear this.
Man what a simple time it was... 2007 halo 3 just came out and it had the most unique feeling I never hadgame. Any another game. It's sad to watch it slowly disappear.
Hearing this song takes me back, as I'm sure it does for anyone reading this comment. I don't have the memories of playing online or with friends like most Halo fans do, but I still cherish those afternoons, nights, and weekends of putting too much time into customizing the Chief, playing through the game multiple times because finishing the fight never got old, and just being in the world of Halo instead of the real world for a time. Sure, it was usually just me, but I didn't mind that. I was the kind of kid who enjoyed time alone, especially when there was a good game to escape into... and the Halo games were much more than good, they were great. This applies to the music just as much as the gameplay or any other aspect of the series. Back then I didn't know the name of this piece, it was just that beautiful music that played on the menu, but it always created the exact right mood, and all these later the track has stuck with me. The title "Never Forget" is fitting, because a gamer never forgets the good times they had with a game, whether it's solo offline, couch co-op, or online multiplayer: the memories are forever, and to me they are a reminder that there were good times, and that there will be good times again. Never Forget.
Never forget, the planets reach and harvest fell for the protection of earth and her colonies. The billions that fell for the destruction of the formal covenant. Salutes
When I hear pretty much anything from Bungie’s Halo games my mind always goes back to the 2000s with my cousins staying up all night playing Halo and Guitar Hero during the summers and swimming outside and just goofing around not a care in the world
I'll be honest, this song hits hard for me already, but with everything going on at Bungie right now it hits even harder. I will never forget the glory days of Bungie and growing up with Halo
Whenever I listen to this, I always feel sad, but also very happy This track has such a feeling of... "Those days were amazing, but you've moved on and that's a good thing. You have good memories of your childhood, but you have to move on, it doesn't mean you have to forget those days. You have highs, and lows, but as you remember the lows, 'never forget' the highs, for moving on, is just as good as remembering" It's probably the only track in a video game that makes me sad *and* happy simultaneously. Martin O' Donnell, we will never forget you
Memory's, are just Memory's but some Memory's are not just memorable there more then just that, some memory's you wish you can get back to others are the ones that you "Never Forget"
Rip halo 2001-2010 (only the true halo) and remember, it’s not just about the game, it’s about us hanging out with friends and family. We miss you bungie, we will NEVER FORGET.
miss the old days when BUNGIE was making making halo legends were born on this game i remember me and my friends doing the OG vid-masters for recon i miss those days so much wish BUNGIE would come back and make halo i love Destiny but it not the same as the good ol halo days.
to me, this song would go well with a scene from a show or movie where someone important to the main character was mortally wounded. laying there dying, telling them important words that they need to hear. and those words, would never be forgotten
I remember it all of it, too many moments to list, excuse me but it’s hard to type with these tears rolling down my face… it’s been 8 years since I’ve opened up campaign for Halo 3 it’s been so long and it’s time to change that but first… i need a weapon.
I might get a lot of hate for this but I’ve never actually played any of the halo games, I really want to I’ve just never got any of them, this song still makes me nostalgic even though I’ve never played halo
Hey buddy, you should rlly get to playing them sometime! I rlly suggest not going on social media / searching anything up because LOTS OF SPOILERS and this game is best played blind imo Play CE first, then 2 , 3 & ODST then reach :D then play halo 4 5 and infinite…. I guess 🗿 but play the bungie games in that order at least :D Good luck! if you ever get round to it
I actually am I going to say something in disagreement with the other guy here. You should play Halo CE, 2, ODST, and then 3 and Reach in that order. 4 & Infinite are pretty good story wise I'd recommend them as someone who's been playing Halo since 2001, 5 is kinda trash just watch a playthrough of it if you want the story.
I am happy but I feel very sad because I have suffered too much but in the end I know that this is what I chose to honor the one who did not want to wake me up and that is the master king of kings lord of lords and I do not care if you hate me I will love you forever since you have chosen me to finish this path of salvation.
Master chief:I'm not leaving you here Johnson:don't worry I'll be always in here in that heart you are the best spartan we could ever ask for John now take cortona and leave the world is counting on you

Halo 3 was my first ever halo on my first ever 360, that was over 10 years ago and I still hold this song deep in my heart.

I'm about to cry
Halo made my youth and i want this track to play at my funeral, thanks!
One of the best menu themes, there will always be tear-level nostalgia with this title screen. I'm so glad it's on backwards compatibility now lol
When I hear pretty much anything from Bungie’s Halo games my mind always goes back to the 2000s with my cousins staying up all night playing Halo and Guitar Hero during the summers and swimming outside and just goofing around not a care in the world
Ohhhhh this song tugs on the strings of your heart
Top 3 Masterpieces of Halo if not No. 1

I’m not the biggest Halo fan, but this is undoubtedly one of, if not the best and most emotional composition in video game history.
Ive never forgot being 7 years old and playing Halo 3 for the first time.
Very similar to me I was 7 when I first played halo 1 and 2
I was 8 when it came out. Me and my childhood friend would play singleplayer and multi-player through it's prime. Perfect time.
Same here brother. Getting a 360 & Halo 3 on Christmas after playing so much Halo 2... Age 11, it hooked me. My main game until 2012.

Honestly the perfect song for a funeral with the title
This song will play when the gates are sealed and Halo ends. Forever.
Keep your head up guy's, just be happy you was there!
Never Forget o7. Unless its the halo show. Please for the love of GOD let us forget!
I remember playing around with my friend in that one map and doing roleplays and other things now my happiness is drained
Stop making me cry

The greatest game ever made.
This is the ONLY instance where I’m ok with not seeing a dislike button
This was where the story ended for me.
Halo died in 2012 when 343 took over. It took me a long time to realize it.😢

The only other game music to stick with me like Halo 3's Never Forget was Civ 4's Baba Yetu
I hate the future.
Me hubiera gustado jugar halo 3 en sus años dorados.

Halo 3 was awesome, the first 2 were just as groundbreaking for their time and smacked the world the same. No single game of the trilogy stands above the rest, halo 2 was probably my favorite multiplayer experience but when halo ce first came out there wasn’t anything even close to it
