Thank you for your comment. If you watch the video again you will see why it had to be done this way. Very few jobs on old cars go to plan and I try to show that so people know what to expect.
@@themidnightmechanic9368 thanks for your reply I did an 18yo fiesta only yesterday remove the top nut on the drop link and the track rod used a bit of force with a hammer to remove the strut the hole job took me approx 3 hours.i guess your way takes much longer
@@andrewwilliams9177 The pinch bolt where the shock goes through the hub has been notorious for giving problems (all fords). If this comes out without a fight then the job is a doddle!... if the bolt shears then you are in trouble so i don't spend too much time on them, quicker/safer just to take the hub with you! If memory serves me correctly, I think I took the brake disc, etc too in this video as the brake carrier bolts were rounded off... again, quicker just to leave it alone. There is always a way in!... if the front door is locked you must climb in the window! Lol
WTF you don't have to do all this to replace a spring you have made a simple job look complicated
