Entertaining and helpful. #5 pretty much sums it up. It’s so easy to surrender to negative thoughts with this game of golf. Mike Sullivan has the knack of making videos that are relatable to the average player. I’d love to be able to take lessons from him one day 👍
Haven’t played 18 holes in Three weeks due to neck pain. I played 4 holes last week. I was not ready to play a signal hole more. I am planning to practice on the driving range in the morning. I really want to get back to playing. Lowering my expectations and following these tips may help my game. I’ve broken all 5 of them!
Funny video Mike. Common sense but always overlooked. Where is that course? Do you have water restrictions there like we have here in Australia. The fairways look dead.
Hi Anthony, thank you for watching. This is Pine Hollow Golf Club in Clayton, NC. We don't have water restrictions here in the US but our Bermuda fairway grass is dormant in the fall and winter so it looks dead. It's absolutely stunning in the spring and summer.
What a video! These five decisions are definitely killers. Especially #5; and I am learning to overcome this one by realizing you can't go forward by looking backward! The longest distance on the course is between our ears. Tell the off-scene voice she made the right call every time (*__*)
Do you have a video with tips on how to avoid: after I make a good shot, (solid contact, correct distance, usually not on the green) then the next shot I completely blowup. It’s like I am doing it on purpose. Has to me mental. I can though down another ball and hit it good. 🤷🏼♂️
Hi John, golfers oftentimes will sabotage themselves because they really don't think that they're a good player. Confidence is very important to success in golf (and other things). Check out some of Dr. Bob Rosella's books, such as "Golf is a Game of Confidence".
Thats actually a pretty good tip. I used to aim directly at a tree out in front of me... Worked like a charm! When I got my handicap down to about 4 or 5, I hit the tree. Now I go between 'em.
Yeah but you can hit a five about 220 right? I hit a five about 180. I can can hit driver about 250 so on a par four that puts me in lob wedge range which is good. But if I am 70 yards farther back I would need a 9 iron or more. For me, if I see a wide fairway in front of me I am taking out the driver. Whatever gets me closest. I mean what the heck?
You captured my frustration perfectly. 2 blowup holes every round and a few 3 putts keep me from breaking 90 every time.
Thank you for the comment Jack. Hopefully, the video was helpful. We all can probably do a better job of staying in the moment.
Made everyone of these mistakes on my back nine yesterday 🤯

I don’t know how many times I’ve do exactly the same thing on #3 hitting the tree from the woods!!!!
That's a pretty common one!

Hi Rev, your right about Lauren's instincts. And so many golfers are guilty about #5!

Hi George. Thank you for watching!
awesome video
Thanks Mike, I appreciate it!
VERY, VERY,GOOG!
Thanks Jim!
If you have no choice but to take the hero shot just aim straight at a tree from the woods. Guaranteed to miss it 😂
