If the Australian leg of the tour went ahead in 2019, Slipknot would’ve opened for Metallica. Now I know that Gojira was also on the cards, I really really wish that show went ahead even more now!

Imagine watching a dreary, played out, mediocre band like Metallica after experiencing he brutal, visceral sonic assault of Gojira. I'd be so disappointed.
I would have watched Gojira then gone home. Wouldn't watch 2 hrs of Metallica slaughtering their best songs. Gojira are tight. Metallica are sloppy now. Just my opinion. Used to love Metallica but then i found Gojira and cant enjoy Metallica the same way anymore.
how is gojira tight please explain? I am huge gojira fan myself and dont really like metallica that much, but still.. this gojira performance is terrible... Vocals are terrible honestly. Am I the only one who is dissapointed...
don't take my full word on this but I think it kinda has to do with the singers' (plural) voice and I am not talking only about Joe. Opeth's vocalist kinda similar to Gojira's lose or their voice through the years from constantly performing live because doing progressive death metal is HARD as fuck. Most of these bands' songs the vocals constantly switch from gentler and melodical higher pitched to brutal low pitched death metal voice and that definitely takes a huge toll on their performance. I think Joe talked about this when asked why the band doesn't do so much death metal as it used to. Still I think the - Pol'And'Rock festival was fucking fire and wish I was there.

I was at the Edmonton show. I was raging in the stands when Gojira came out and everyone else was like “meh”. Absolutely loved it! 🤘🏻😡🤘🏻
