I purchased a manticore 4 months ago from Kellyco and I’ve learned a lot of techniques and some of the technical nuances of the manticore from watching your videos. I live beachside 6 miles N of Sebastian Inlet since 63. I have an opportunity to pickup a Fishers Pulse 8X for a super price. I’m wanting your input on whether this device is as good as reviews state. Keep in mind although I will be getting it in the water from time to time mostly it will be used for beach shore and dunes hunting. Thanks for any guidance Lee
28 years is the length of the time the gold plate will last! Its 10k rolled gold or 1/20th 10k is also a hallmark I have seen used. But 28 years refers to a plated thickness

So I believe the pocket watch is actually rolled gold plate. This is a process that deposit a HEAVY layer of gold over a base metal. Because of this it was able to be warranted or guaranteed not to wear out for a number of years.

Hey Merrell, that marble with a string in it might be part of an old glass clacker. I had a couple pairs back in the day, before they quit making them from glass, as after awhile, they would shatter. But look up Glass clackers, and you'll see what I think you might have found! Great Video, as always!!

Boy do I want to go back to Brooklyn again. I had been to the Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tourney 4 consecutive years back around 2009. There is an island straight out from Floyd Bennet Field called Ruffle Bar that is quite similar to DHB. I initially stopped off when nature called during the tourney and I ended up mudlarking for a few hours. Tons of bottles and various bits and bobs. I'd love to do that again!

hey long time watcher. Unfortunately, When a pocket watch says "25 years guarantee" it means the plating is garneted for 25 years. the watch would have a very thick 10k gold coating on it. Which is so thick, it can even pass an acid test
I hate to break your heart fam, but the pocket watch is gold filled, not 10 or 14. The warranty and number of years indicates the number of years the gold will hold up with regular use before it wears down to the base metal. Still an awesome find!!

Hey Merrell, thanks for the great video. I recently went to visit Dead Horse Bay but all those official signs saying the area was closed and trespassers would be prosecuted by the Parks and Wildlife dept scared me off. Have you ever seen police patrolling the area?
I just looked it up online, the Mazel token with the lions on it is apparently a pattern used. I don’t know where it came from, though. No clue if it was used for a bar or bat mitzvah.
I think all those treasures ended up in the same place because as with gold you find in rivers, placer mining, heavy things drop out in the same places.

Here in Oregon the black sand can contain gold. You should try doing a few pans full.
