Been using DPP for years and did not realize several of these. Good organizational tools that do not require you to abandon the file structure on your computer. Thank you!

What was Canon thinking when they released this software?
It's not backwards compatible with older versions which means that none of the corrected images and recipes processed in DPP3 can be read in version 4.
If I want to see the recipes I used in my older images, I have to have version three installed!

Canon - thanks and i use your DPP exclusively - BUT PLEASE tell me two things.
    1. when using collection (which is great) is there a setting which tells me where the photo is actually stored.
    2. when modifying in collection or any other location when i go to save it does not default to the orignal file location.
    HELP

It would be nice is Canon was more active in evolving DPP. It vitally needs updating to take advantage of modern Windows and IOS tablet operations, and it really needs a Wndows file "breadcrumbs" location bar.

Don't wanna correct a pro but at 3:05 you stated that if one right clicks a chosen "collection" you can delete it from that category. Perhaps this is possible on a PC but does not work on the Mac. In order for someone to delete the chosen collection, they MUST go to FILE and scroll down to the option menu where you will find "Delete collection" then confirm. Right clicking on a Mac does not delete the chosen "collection"

This DPP4 for Windows seems to be easy, so far I struggle when I open a photo or image, I just want to close after I view the photo, for the life of me I can't find the typical option close. I pait watercolor and oil so I need to see the photo I am painting from, so I go to DPP4, I open it and I view it for details or examine it, but I can not close to go to the next photo.

Hi, Rick! You can create a new folder to move images to or as a new destination for images that have been processed by right-clicking in the folder navigation pane and selecting [New Folder]. However, images and folders cannot be shared or e-mailed from DPP. For this, you may want to look into using the Canon iMage Gateway. Find out more about it at Canon.us/gqgyt We hope this helps!

@@ericvigstol2838 Hello again! Your images are not actually stored in DPP, so it isn't necessary to transfer then out. All you will need to do is follow the upload procedure on the website, either dragging and dropping an image into the outlined space on the Canon iMage Gateway website when asked to, or clicking in that outlined space to open a navigation window to find the images you want to upload.

As for keywords, those can easily be added as "tags" when viewing the properties for the image in Windows Explorer. Whatever tags you enter for the image, DPP will read as keywords.

It also depends, what the format is of the original photo. To begin with the best file photo formats to work on and resize are .RAW, PNG, ESP, BMP, GIF, and highly recommended is the format .TIFF. all these formats are heavy and are scalable, you can enlarge or reduce the size of the photo without losing quality, brightness or anything. JPEG is a different deal, when you save on this format the amount of bytes are less. People use this popular format to transfer over the internet or email to you family or upload pics to your website. So it really depends on what you are doing.
