Alaskan Meat Moose Hunt with Mini Jet Boats!

- Headed back to our hunting grounds for another season in our mini jet boats we built. 8 day hunt, passed on a smaller moose the second day only to get one on the 6th day. Not the trophy moose Ian got the year before but its meat in the freezer. .

I was too busy trying to use the new camera but some drone footage would have been awesome. I just cant fly it till after the hunt is over so its a short window. I love that you added the processing in at the end. So much work but the best feeling when it’s all in the freezer. I love the whole process of securing a meat supply.
Thank you! It is definitely why we pull the trigger in the first place. Love having moose in the freezer instead of buying meat at the store and the processing part is long but rewarding.

Do you want to eat Moose meat, or just stare at the Horn`s hanging on a shed wall? You don`t know how lucky you guy`s are to beable to harvest such quality meat, best of luck next year.

Horrified:( I know lots like hunting for sport but I find it barbaric & cruel, I eat meat, I’ve worked farms & had to help groundskeeper’s control animal pests but shooting an innocent wild animal for no reason is a pointless & shallow & to me shows no love for the world around you, even if you do use the meat. Disappointing & abhorrent to see such a beautiful animal lying dead for your amusement this on this channel!

This isn't for sport. This is for food for the family. We eat moose more than any other meat. I don't enjoy killing but I do love the "hunt" as others do. Watch the end. If feeds 2 family's for a year. All the meat you eat is innocent. At least this one was not locked up on a farm its whole life.
@@KrisDeVo appreciate the reply Kris, as a follower of your channel for some time & a fellow carpenter especially since the nasty accident in the shop, I get it & understand where you are situated it goes with the territory so to speak & I also understand your saying the meat is a huge cost saving over the year. However there is a vast amount of trophy & sport hunting that goes on where you are & honestly feel it’s not needed, to me it shows a lack of respect for the animals & honestly can you say your going to starve if you don’t kill a moose?
I doubt it very much, there are plenty of ways to support ethical farming & take a stand against what I feel is an outdated and barbaric form of recreation. I sound like a right old hippie I don’t mean to be, just another perspective from another part of the world , I enjoy fishing & I understand the thrill of the hunt but killing a wild animal for fun is no less ignoble than killing a pigeon or a feral cat for fun. It belies an imbalanced view of the world, and one’s self, and indulges a lust for violence that’s unhealthy.

The biggest animal around is a pygmy Elephant..which is illegal to hunt in Borneo,another obstacle is we were not allowed to own a rifle..not even an air gun.😂😂Boring life.

I very well remember just how tasty Moose can be!
Years ago when I lived in Tallinn Estonia at the Main market place they would sell smoked Moose sausage. Which was absolutely superb tasting and nutritious.
One day if feasable I will have to go on such a Moose Hunt- Harvest!

Estonia has similar terrain, Floria and Fauna as Alaska. We also have the Red Stag which is related to American Elk- Wapati, Eurasian Brown Bear and many thousands of Moose. With hunting seasons for Moose, Red Stag, Bear, Wild Boar etc.
Moose are harvested and smoked sausage is made and sold in the capitol city Tallinn.
When I lived in Tallinn back in mid 1990's the Moose sausage was about 2 feet long and 1.1/4 inch thick in gerth.
The Moose sausage was the most expensive and absolute best smoked sausage I have ever eaten in my lifetime.

Thanks! You running the GS with a Vortex? This was the SBL with a Nightforce. Looking to get a different scope for it as this one belongs to a different rifle.

Haha! You just said what the last guys said. I was hot and took my hat off after hiking up the hill. After watching the footage my head sure sticks out! But it was actually my buddy who moved his foot out and scared the moose.
