We hunt moose here in Alaska to provide our families with wild-caught, free-range, organic goodness. This hunt was probably the most brutal one I have been on. It just did not stop raining, and harvesting a moose in the swamp is no easy task.
In this video, I take you through the whole journey of the hunt and follow through with showing you our complete processing of the animal.
We built these 14' mini (not-so-mini) jet boats. We don't have plans for them; they are our design from the bottom up.
Currently, I am right in the middle of a run of my Alaskan Hunter knives. Two of my favorite makers will be doing their own spin on this knife (small batch). Josh at Wilder Knives of Alaska will also be doing a small run of them as well. A full video on this is in the works!

Thank you for sharing the process of processing and taking care of the meat. Trust me, I KNOW what it took to bring that meat home. You worked your asses off to get that meat home but in my estimation there is no better meat than moose meat. I've lived in Alaska and that place is magical and the meat that you can harvest is amazing!!!!!!
Bison and elk are pretty tasty. !!!! An outfitter/guide friend swears muskox is best tasting !
Lived in Alaska for 37 years, never saw the need to go to some remote area to bag a moose, had them in driveway, front yard, across the road, on my property at edge of lake etc... friend of mine got moose first day of bow hunt in his driveway.

Great to see you posting videos again. Congrats on the mouse hunt, especially with the tough conditions. I had no idea so much work went Into processing the meat. I am an Industrial Education Major, and I can truly appreciate your woodworking ability. I am also a lifelong hunter, and I know the pains of waiting all day long for a deer that does not show up when all the signs say it should have. I GREATLY enjoyed this video, and I am curious to know what you charge for one of your custom knives. I am seriously considering getting one for my son if it's in my wheelhouse.

Ok so you left the most crucial parts of the moose hive and spine! Hive is priceless and spine try to cook soup on piece of spine!
Hi boys, I'm from New Zealand I love your hunting channel. I like your hunting knife, I want to know if I can have the knife 🔪🔪
For an effective cheaper moose caller,
use a empty tin coffee can (3 pound can), cut a circular hole bottom of can the size of braided twine(braided twine not twisted twine & #18 or #21, use drill,nail, or scew), cut twine about 3 feet, tie a knot one end & insert from inside of bottom of can, add some grass or moss into the can(about half can, add or take away to adjust calling sounds), wet the twine & wet your thumb, pointer, & middle fingers, hold can in one hand & with your wet fingers grab the twine from close to bottom of can & pull your fingers down the twine.
PRESTO, Moose moan call. & shorter pulls for moose grunts.
Try it, your buddies will say "That's amazing, wheredid you learnthat?"😮

Very nice, I can hardly imagine how hard the hunt was. I used to live in the Olympic peninsula Washington state so I do know rain and wet weather. Packed out 550 Lbs. of elk there 21/2 miles through wet country, but I can see a moose is much worse. Thanks for the shae, I'm sure it made it double tough.

They sell diy aluminium kits and CAD kits so you can buy the designs and have the kits cut out somewhere closer to you.
They have dozens of designs and sizes to choose from, and im pretty sure theu can custom design hulls upon request.
Mind you, your boats here look pretty well built and designed, you did well

Having done a few AK moose hunts myself and now living thousands of miles away in Ireland, which is mooseless but equally wet 😂 - it was heartwarming to follow along despite the constant drenching you guys endured the whole time! we use to go to northern Quebec, same terrain as there in Alaska, the Town up and left, 98% of all the workers/hunters, animals have free reign, I 'm on the West coast, hope to get back there before I go

that was a hard earned moose and I know from experience getting a moose across and out of a swamp is brutal. we broke our canoe lol. great videoand all the real stuff left in so peoplle know hunting for food for your family is what hunting is all about . as long as its legal its food as the horns you cant eat , meat over the size of the antlers is priority. Have you ever considered dropping a client off and continuing on with the boat??????
