Sue and I visited Community Aid, one of our favorite thrift stores. We came away with a quite a few items to resale as well as some laughs.

You gave me inspiration to go to the local thrift store. So, I go and I found a large Libbey’s 5 gallon glass pig bank for $3.50. I put it on my eBay store and it got bids right away. It sold for $76.00! Thanks for the inspiration...

1776-1976 glasses are perfect for someone who entertains on the fourth or display as part of their fourth decor! Love them!
That clock you saw at the end is really cool. On the hour it flips the inside pieces around and plays music. They are about $100 brand new.

My favorite videos are with Sue and you. I learn so much from listening to Sue’s expertise on so much. Besides being so knowledgeable, she’s hysterical ! Then throw in her random information on the coins from Aruba or her facts on Australia and I’m more than entertained... I’m also learning handy random info. kay_dallas Yes, it did look like Emmet Kelly. The hobo clown stuff is fun. $16-$20 is a good Profit if you can get it for $1.

Yes! I thought that was Emmett Kelly too! My ex-boyfriend's mother collected them. I hate clowns but Emmett Kelly Jr.'s figurines are hobos so that's okay! 😀

I'm an antique dealer. I go to Goodwill every week. If there's tape covered over the lids, I remove the tape to check inside cracks or chipped, before I buy it.
Great haul love the turquoise glass bowl! And and played the ads!
Frankoma Pottery is from Oklahoma and worth quite a bit. I don't think anyone would worry about the chip inside if it isn't too bad. Good quality Oklahoma red clay, Ada, OK. clay is used on the earlier pieces and worth more, but that was a great piece. If you find it at a thrift store, it's a good buy, because Frankoma is from the art deco period and is no longer in business under the name Frankoma. I've been finding several pieces, lately and it's usually at the antique store.

"Boyds Bears" thank you! When I was 9 I picked a grandpa one up for my Papa, and my grandmother was always a little jealous it didn't have a mate, and now at 29 I had been scouring every thrift shop looking for a grandma one. Little did I know I just had to take a trip to PA.

I believe those bicentennial glasses are 1/2 pint sour cream glasses. I saw them online when I was researching a pair of glasses I found this weekend. I never found mine, though.

I do so love your community aid. Our GW is so small I think it could fit in it three times. The amount of goodies you find because of it is just wonderful. You and Sue were on a roll today, or should I say you were on a bagel?! ha ha ha No matter what it was, it was sweet! I could have watched you all day. Apart from all you guys wonderful personalities what I love most watching your thrifting videos is how different all of our tastes are, and it's so wonderful.
I can really appreciate a lot of what you pick but if you and I were in the same shop at the same time we'd get along just fine because we'd go for different things (for different reasons) most of the time. 🤘😍

Love watching you and Sue thrifting. Clear glass is not really my thing either however I do adore colored glass. I agree milk glass is nice if it is a unique piece. I loved the swans and the one horse head which looked like a bookend. Hope your grandma loved the bird figurine. :) Can't wait to see part 2.

I made the same tree 🌲napkin holder, in ceramic class, in 1973. I still use it for holding Christmas cards. Have a great summer, from a fellow PA resident 😉

That little wax warmer you could also use to put some essential oil and water like a diffuser or apple cinnamon or orange cinnamon nutmeg anything you'd like and have it like a simmering potpourri pot. Love doing that in the winter you don't have to use a pot on the stove then. I love that lamp shade if I didn't have a lampshade little bit similar to that I would want it. Having a lot of fun watching your videos.
The Christmas tree napkin holder is ceramic. I made those in the early 80's.

Love the Noritake China! I have my mother's Noritake China that my father got her when he was stationed overseas(he was in the army) in the late 50's. It's the Rosemarie pattern and it's beautiful!

That mug..I just bought the same exact one for 50 cents.mid century vintage Otagiri mug from japan..sold mine for 10 dollars..could probably got more if I sat on it..but it went really quickly..I love the mug because I'm from nova scotia and it reminded me of home.im really stoked that you picked it up because you've inspired me to resell my thrift finds and we picked the same thing!!!!!
Would a magnifier on a chain help Sue when she looks for identity marks on the bottoms of glass wear?
Gwyen Otter I think Sue is really nearsighted, and she has to lift her glasses up (or down) and look over (or under) them to be able to read. I don't think she needs reading glasses; I have the same thing, I'm seriously nearsighted, and because of that, my optometrist told me I'll never reading glasses.
@@veecee3669 I know you are right she is looking over her glasses. My husband has to take off his glasses to see stuff close up too. Still would probably help anyone looking at the makers mark sometimes.

that mug you found I have one that matches it but it has a lighthouse. I LOVE lighthouses! It's my most favorite. I found it thrifting in Minnesota with my sister! 💜 I was JUST looking at it yesterday wishing I knew who made it etc. It's a mystery! Mine has a little chippie on it!

I literally screamed “BEAN POT!” I wanted them to turn it over to see the shade of clay used and the mark. Would’ve scooped it up even with the chip! I fell in love with pottery because of Frankoma starting in my teens. They originated in Norman, Oklahoma in 1933 by John Frank. Beautiful mid century art pieces, as well as useable kitchen ware. I love the durability of the Oklahoma red clay, the designs, the glazes.
Loved Bicenntenial year! I went to VA beach and had a blast. Went to San Diego, CA and had a good time! Went to Tampa FL and had a good time! Those glasses brought back all those memories!
