I've been inspired by your videos and caved in and bought a small set of the Tombows. And they are sooo lovely! I don't think I'd have bothered if not for your videos as sometimes expensive doesn't equal better, so thanks for sharing. Now I know they're worth the investment. So now I need to stop buying more colouring supplies and save up for the full set of Tombows (at least that is the plan, but I'm not having much luck with my no spends! LOL!)
Great to hear from you, hope all is well with you and your family. Like you I have Tombow’s but it’s good to know if any of these ‘cheaper’ pens match them, but I don’t like using pens or pencils without some way of identifying the colours. Thank you for review hope to hear from you again soon.
Thanks Laney. I'm the same, I have to test and compare to see if they are diamonds in the rough! And again, same as you, I have to have colour numbers if not names.
I was so happy to see this review because tombow and ohuhu are the brands I'm deciding on actually, . I have a set of Tombows, which I love. Just hate the price! Just got a set of ohuhu alcohol midtone that I love, but need some water-based. I think im just going to do like you and keep buying a set at a time lol
@staceygraves4587 If I had to choose only one set of waterbased pens it would be the Tombows, but they are very expensive. Took me many years to get the full set (think I'm still missing a few greys too!) 🥰
Splendid review! I have these markers at well I would say these are beautiful for beginners! This was very helpful for me and I’m pretty sure you’ve helped others as well! Tombows are expensive, and considering how these markers are abt 22$ (and AMAZING quality and very usable just for cheap) and the 10 pack of Tombows are 26$ just says it! I hope your doing well! ❤❤😊
I've never seen the Primrosia pens, so I just looked them up. They look the same as the other whitelabeled pens of that type, which I have reviewed before. 🥰
I really need to get my Tombows out more often. And my Koi coloring brush pens and the FC Pitt pens. I just find it so hard to find the right illustrations I can use them on 😶
Great Review 😊 i havent tried none of those three brands before but i could save up a little money and decide to purchase a few tombows as a christmast gift to myself, im really exited to try them out. Also i got my tombows from Stationery Pal as they have discounts right now and you can even select the color you like one by one if you dont want to buy a whole set and they are just half the price compare to art store or on amazon etc. 🌷🎨🖌
It's a great idea buying more expensive pens open stock, a few at a time. That's what I did with mine. Took me over 5 years to get the full set! Enjoy yours 😊
OMG! I got the Amazon basic I didn't know they had bullet nib end Lol....🥴 I bought them for just laying down a colour before using pencil for shading and since I wont use them much thought that would be better choice time will tell 😁 xx
Hey Vanessa! 👋 No not at all, both would great in planners. In fact I did a whole test of different waterbased markers to test them with double-sided colouring books, so that might be worth a watch to see how they bleed through.
@@ArtJourneyUK the Amazon basic nibs on the paper….the other nibs didn’t appear to be so hard? The Tombow and Ohuhu didn’t sound all scratchy (I am listening with headphones so perhaps it’s picking the sound up more?).
You Do Fantastic Reviews, You Help So Much, Thank You. X
Aww thanks Debs 🥰

Ooo nice! I love my Tombows! Enjoy 🥰
Happy to see a new video from you! Thanks for the great review. Take care!
Thanks Deb 😊

Totally agree!
Thanks for this great video. Have you done a review of the primrosia pens? I’m seeing them in Amazon constantly.

Me too. I definitely don't use them enough.
Me three…🤣🥰
YAY!! Love to see ya again! ❤
Haha Thanks Leslie! 😊

What is the residue chunks on the paper each time you rubbed any brand on the oaper?
Timestamp?
Example Timestamp 14.31 you are using the waterbrush to try to blend out the pinkish purple shades…there are visible debris left (the size of crumbs).
That tissue paper looks like a little piece of art in itself 😀
Ha! I remember in the old Art Journaling days we used to dry tissues like that and use them as backgrounds!

Ooo good plan. They're decent enough pens!
Do any of these markers bleed through the paper? I'm looking for something to use in my daily planner.

That sounded like nails on a blackboard 🥴 thanks for another helpful swatching….don’t think I will rush to buy those 🙃

@@spare_room_studioah yes. They are very stiff, not much give at all. Definitely don't rush to buy them!
Jackie, no headphones needed to hear the scratching 😄
@@leonnehaaijman4709 hehe proof that they're not great!
I can’t afford the tomboys I’ll get some similar
same bro i can’t afford the tomboys either 💀💀
You wonder how they get away with them looking so similar.
I know. I guess the Tombow pen isn't a trademarked design.
