isn't this..... uhhh... motion capture? like something we do since forever? isn't the polar express animated with the same technique? why are they saying this is a brand new thing?????
I think this is more like a filter, it just takes a video and overlays stolen AI slop over it. I believe motion capture as the name implies is a way to capture motion, meaning it's only a way to record someone's movements and micro expressions, you don't get an animation out of it. you then need a team to use that reference to model, texture, animate, light etc etc.
It's a different technique samem result. there's already are ways to do this to a 3d model from a video, both with filters and etc. They're basically doing an ai rebranding for everything. it's dumb
Relax, they don't have the control to fix this xD Generative Ai is always about throwing something at the wall hoping enough sticks to make it look like it could work.
We're on the millionth AI model version, and they always say, 'Just wait for the next one. It'll blow your mind.' Yeah, right. I've tried ToonCrafter, but all I got were laughs. And this one is worse! Animation work is safe for a while longer, haha. I want useless AI to solve my investment and money problems, not Art. What a stupid choice of application. What now? Do we do the labor work while the robots generate "Art"?
No you are wrong. He is giving the same feedback that he would give any shot even if this was animated by a human artist. That would be his exact feedback. You are projecting here with that 'ah these people are pissed that ai can do this.' This person probably reviews shots on a daily basis and he is doing what he always does.
All this AI slop eventually boils down to the 'money aspect'. How much cheaper can they produce trash that's just adequate enough or mediocre enough to get past the viewer. The producers just wanted an excuse to not pay artists and this will always be the primary reason for this whole ai endeavor. You can never argue, justify or convince the producers to say characters lack xyz or is substandard. The main goal is to eliminate the artist here because of the money involved. I feel artists such as yourself should not even bother critiquing this, you are just helping them out here to point out flaws basically giving them direction they never ever will have or the creative capacity to see. Let them try and release their bland ai films and let the audience decide.
i mean the technology with modern accessible software is already in place, so AI seems a little bit like a marketing gig here. however i agree that instead of using AI as a tool to streamline workflow (at stuff where its really helpful) we in danger of encouraging laziness and therefore creating lazy products.

I agree with the file name wtf is this

@@artkonina Also, motion capture often produces the worst animation. Polar Express, for example, looks very uncanny valley.

Great content and really drove home how bad AI is at animation! Keep up the great work on your channel!
Psst,...Let's not tell them how to improve that 😅
This.
At the same time, I don't think they have any skill to actually improve. That's why they're using AI in the first place :)

WOW people animated for more than 100 years, and AI is at this level in how many years? I'm an animator, and this is scary.

im sure they will be able to apply the notes.
Right guys?
Cos Ai animators are real animators, r-right?
from where you bring this this video ??
It's like giving a psychopath a job as psychologist. AI is and will always be an imitator not a creator.
All i see are pissed men.
Dont cry bros
This will change everything

its ok to critique but none of you are acknowledging that IT WILL GET BETTER SOON.. this literally version 1
I think it wont get good if it stops stealing
