I'm so thankful I could get it!! I'm super excited to be using it. There will be a few videos in the next week or two that don't have the new mic because I am using the last of my old mic videos. Also did the mic sound okay? Does it need any tweaks to volume or anything?
@@ThingWub I gotcha, that’s ok, the old mic wasn’t terrible, the new one is just better lol. Yeah, the new mic sounded perfect to me, I’m not an expert at all, but it sounded right to my ears lol
You do wanna watch out for those varians with twin blade syndrome though. Where they only play twinblade build like its launch varian and heroic strike did physical damage still. Even into a johanna li li cassia comp. Taunt i feel is the most consistent playstyle for varian. The extra health pool and access to cc without completely sacrificing damage output in bursts just makes for a solid choice into most situations.
And now Varian's officially classified as tank apparently I usually play vs AI myself, and usually I go between Fury (twin) or Arms (colossus smash) build, depending on if I want to tank or utterly destroy a hero I never tried Taunt build yet tho, despite its' potential
Just pick smash and use the best cc death on the enemy :). PIcking q is just bad plain bad. Overpower for taunt makes varian nearly 100 to 0 low hp heores by him self and doesn't need much more follow-up.
Smash is definitely very good, but this video is meant to be focused on the tank portion of this hero and how to play it. I find the extra slow on Varian Q is very useful in fights after you get the first pick with taunt and follow up from the team
Overpower gives nothing besides damage, while Lion's Maw gives both damage and cc. And actually if you hit 2 or more people with a single full stacked Q, it does summary more damage than 1 free heroic strike from overpower. Also, if the enemy team has a lot of blinds or evasions, overpower becomes totally useless in many cases.
@@ThingWubsmash is only good if the enemy team doesn't try to counterplay it, which is pretty easy to do. Just drop any hard cc on Varian whenever he smashes or after it, and he can't do anything. Smash Varian has no real cc, no real survivability, no reliable and consistent damage.
Just because the developers gave up on it doesn't mean it's dead. AoE and LotR BfME are all going strong thanks to player dedication. If I could get my hands on the HOTS source code I'd set up my own server and work together with the community to patch and update it
