Hi, great videos and really helping me as a new reefer . Can you help . My tank has been set up for 6 weeks and will be a soft coral only tank. my nitrates are at about 25 and causing algea . I have a red sea e260 system with an all in 1 filtration at the back, so it has no actual mechanical filtration, just a skimmer. Should I add a cannister filter to help as I can't have a sump . Many thanks
I have a refugium with a decent size ball of chaeto spinning under a Tunze refuge light and I still have high nitrates. Tank has been up a little over a month had 0,0,0 on my readings now I have Nitrates at 20-40ppm. My chaeto hasnt grown even a little bit.
Yes I would increase feeding & keep monitoring it. It’s good to test for phosphates as well. You want to have some of both, don’t let either bottom out or it could cause issues 😊
I do water change NOTHING I can't get rid of it I'm at 60ppm Nitrate I'm using a skimmer,Cheato only got corals No Amomia or Nitrites don't feel my Hammer corals my tank is 6 months old
my N03 is currently 21ppm and I’d like to reduce it to 10-15 ppm so I’m carbon dosing with plans to add an algae scrubber.

I'm more partial to scrubbers. But not biased at all :)

Nitric acid will smash your pH as well .

My phos is 0.5 and my nitrate are 50 and my colour on my corals are insane I think as long as you keep them stable they aren’t a problem
Wont do fish die at 50 nitrates?
