I love John Bull I’ve done it both directions and at night in my old CJ-5 with 2 1/2 lift on 35s with lock rights front and rear before I joined the wheelchair crowd…I want to do it now in my TJ Rubicon 2 inch lift on 35s.
Haven't ran JB in a good 8 yrs or so and grew up running this trail over and over and over again . 97 TJ.. started with 32' and open, then 33', 35's locked, 37's and now 40s on tons stretched.. Always fun. Do a video on Dishpan or Gold Mt. Also challenging areas.
Here you go: th-cam.com/video/vUxgeLNub80/w-d-xo.html We were at the Winter 4x4 Jamboree this weekend and we were just talking about the progression of tire size over the last 15 years. We remember when 33” and 35” tires were big!
Truly love this trail y'all did Nick! Hope to one day get out of Oklahoma and venture out westward in my Xterra to see theses sights for our self as a family
Some serious obstacles damn. I just took my 2 door JL Sport on 33s and open diffs (rear LSD) on Gold Mountain. Did every major obstacle including new gatekeeper. John Bull looks rough. I'd probably end up winching to avoid body damage, no point going there yet. Going to install a front air locker soon on the Jeep, then maybe i'll give it a try. Maybe. Holcomb Creek first.
Holcomb creek is a bit easier than John Bull as the obstacles are more spread out. How was the new gatekeeper on gold mountain? Here is a video we did on that trail a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/vUxgeLNub80/w-d-xo.html
The end of the video has a good summary of what each vehicle had. A really experienced driver could get through without lockers but it would be tough on the vehicle and the trail, at least one locker is a good idea. Thanks for watching!
I did this trail many times 23 years ago. I had a stock 2in body lift, 4cyl with 33s 1995 wrangler . It was tuff but those rocks are much bigger now!!
Nice!

Your CJ sounds like a sweet rig. Glad to hear you are still getting out despite the wheelchair. Good luck with your TJ!

Great job on the video we just ran John bull a few weeks ago you described it perfectly.
Thank you!
Looks awesome!
It’s a fun trail. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Thanks!
Thank you!
I've done that trail on 31's. It didn't seem nearly as difficult as the Rubicon on 35s.
The Rubicon never lets up for sure, it’s a constant beat down. Thanks for the comment!
Loving the bloopers 🤣
Ya buddy! It’s all part of a day on the trail.
Heck yea! Great trail and great group of friends! Love Big Bear!
🍻

Thank you! If you ever get out west hit us up and maybe we can play tour guide for a day.
That looks like a fun trail. I'm bummed I couldn't make It.
Wish you could have, it was a blast!
That baby powder sand really makes the trail more of a challenge with all that tire slipping.
So true. Thanks for watching and be sure to check out our trail review playlist!
Pretty cool to see an Xterra on John Bull. Never see those properly set up, good on ya!
Thanks‼️ Be sure to check out our rig walk around and adventure videos.

I did that a few years ago in my Xterra. Bent the rear diff cover but all went wll
Nice! The ARB diff covers make a big difference on the 2nd generation Xterras.
Do you need lockers?

Is that a 6ft bed taco or 5 ft? Can't tell
5 ft.
So i wont make it with my reg cab taco on 31s locked front and rear?
Driver skill plays a big role, but with armor you probably could…… especially being a regular cab. Thanks for watching!
Where can I get info on the yellow Xterra?
